Yes, as you all know we will be playing on massive and see this
"Obama sucks omg"
Or "What the hell, I can't afford LWC"
Or "They need to add-"

Things like this get on my nerves when people spam global with political nonsense and things like this.
I remember when general chat was "Lul, butt" not a full out conversation war of opinions and trolling

If there were a Opinion/Argument/Dispute channel all this spam would disappear with the ignore chats option.

Now what do you think?

Channel would have:
-short cool down to speak your mind
-A option to ignore
-Many many arguments

One of the main reasons why I leave general chat all the time, either someone is arguing over a stick or just a bunch of newbs (New players) talking non-sense. If maybe there was a chat for arguements where people can type their fingers off then I would be in Trade/General chat more often.

Yeah, I got pissed after the recent "blue is the best color" argument :I
Why I posted it XD

The only reason I can think of to deny this would be it spamming up your chat, but with the ignore option, why not?

SUPPORTED :D

Rather then a short cool down, roughly the same cool down as G, mabye a tad bit shorter, and (if possible) Ability to type two messages in a row. Otherwise, supported

This wont work sadly, one of the reasons people do this in general is because they are too stupid to realize that not everyone wants to hear them humiliate somebody else or how so and so kicked whose ass in pvp. They do this so people are forced to hear it, so people know they have been defeated by someone else. It would be a good idea, however the people who are causing such a need to create this kind of chat wont have enough respect to use it.

Well, I guess people could go "please move to argument chat"

An Argument chat inside of minecraft wouldn't really work. I find it hard to express a viewpoint when I can only type set amount of characters, and have to wait set amount of time to finish saying my opinion.

It exists, it's called PM. People in general are to stupid (Or trying to troll to hard) to realize that you can take the argument outside of general. Not only would it benefit the arguers, it could also stop the spam about stupid stuff in general. This chat will simply go unused, as the ones arguing in General want others to see the argument. It's a giant vat of drama, and general is the only place they can think of that gives them the biggest voice to spread that drama.

People already say "take this out of general" or "take this to msg" dpsnt mean theyll listen, and the logic of them being punished for not using the chat, thats already something that occurs and clearly has little to no effect.

This is a good idea. Someone make me staff, I would totally mute everyone who dared argue in global past my warning "Don't you f*cking dare argue here."

The fact that there's still the problem of pointless arguments in general just shows that the people causing/engaging in them simply don't learn. If the same people keep starting them after, say, 53 mutes and several kicks, it's clear that they lack the maturity to take their angsty or petty whining outside of General.

I personally feel punishments are not issues enough, staff aee often telling the same people over and over to take things out of general chat, perhaps the issue isnt that a new chat needs created, but after multiple offenses as well as warnings that are often ignored, some players need their rights permanatly revoked from certain chats, really wouldnt be that big of a loss, they know the consequences and still they continue.

Yes, great idea! More chat spam for the staff because we would have to moderate this channel for any offensive, profane and vulgar material! - Sarcasm.

In other words, no. If you want to argue with players take it to private message, or Skype, I don't care, just don't bring it into public chat channels.

Siding with Spartan here, we already have to filter through the chats that are General and Premium, why would another chat that would be filling with constant flaming and taunting help us effectively moderate the server and it's Environment?
So no... No support

I suggest instead, just mute anyone who starts arguing. Literally just be like "RAWR! You posted the word Congress in general! MUTETH!" Would solve a LOT of problems... :P

Well just leave general then. Another channel will be only chaos. New people get headache already, when they have to deal with all the server we have now.

Mecharic you have a strange concept of staff work and what we actually do, players may think us to be ban happy mute dishing out class A a-hole but the reality is, we try to educate the players that do this to the point where they no longer have any issues with either staff or players, if they refuse then we up the game punishment wise, but only as a last resort.

...

I was dead serious, I think you guys should mute people when they do stuff like that. I was in no way attempting to insult staff, though I was making a slight medieval pun with the "MUTETH" thing (get it, eth, like what they back then... it was funny!) but other than that I was serious. Also, I rather like most staff members and would never compare them to a "Class A a-hole" since they do a bunch of hard work for the server. You of course know more about how staff works than I do, but I still think that muting people after a warning would help end a lot of these arguments.

Oh, don't get me wrong should they not listen to the warning, they will get muted for it, however we also have to provide an adequate reason for the mute, as it will help other staff see why and what that particular player had been muted for.

Yes because having a channel for arguing about "if Obama is actually Osama bin Laden, then take all the first letters of each noble, you get "KSLLCPPFMT" which clearly means Alexander Kade is apart of the Illuminati and his brother is no other...than Chewbaca!" is a wonderful idea!

That would actually be kinda fun XD

Locking topic, This has derailed from the issue, and quite frankly this idea will not be added into MassiveCraft.
