Another week of boiling progressions in the Regalian Archipelago, heating up to the point where one might even think most of the nobility have forgotten the ongoing stalemate war with the Elves. The d’Vaud family makes the first moves with their investigations into the supposed demagoguery that occured in their lands, causing the spread of riots from the Calemberg proper region. While their investigations are thorough, they are inconclusive. They are able to establish only that the demagogues worked on orders from somene referred to as “The Brixiaud” connection, a term which refers to all Leutz-Vixe people living in either Brissiaud or Brixoid. While not conclusive, it does certainly point the finger in the direction of house Ravenstad, du Pont, Peirgarten, Rosendahl, Morgan, Everhardt or Vis-Vegcht. At the same time, Hamelin d’Vaud as a general issues a campaign against the Elves in the Elven Moors. While oririginally orders were set to coordinate with Kehlen and Viduggla, only Viduggla ends up actually assisting while Kehlen remains stationary and creates fortifications for a stable position to move from. As such, Viduggla and d’Vaud struggle to make any positive conquest of the Elven Moors, instead just getting bogged down at the roughly equal Elven army that makes much better use of the marshland surroundings.

In a stroke of unprecedented collectivity, house Tyrannian leads a coalition of houses: Valeur, Tyrannian itself, Artiemus, Carwell and Claudio to offer the Old Rebellion members exactly what they wanted, but in the Anglian Veer instead of in Dragenthal. Through vessels operated by the Valeur Family, the entire Old Rebellion is evacuated to the Anglian Veer, where they settle down in an arrangement that not only protects their religious and cultural identity, but also sees them take up positions as march protectors of the Veer, which will become relevant later.

The Navies of the Empire are relatively stagnant. The lack of knowledge about the Dread Empire’s naval capacity puts all of them on high alert, and with good reason, as the last time the Empire taunted the Mirnoye state, it proved to have technology beyond Regalian capacity and nearly wiped out a fleet with a single vessel. The Ravenstad controlled fleet remains in the Elven Seas, where nothing of interest occurs. The other fleets ran by Krier and Black circle around the Elven Moors, while the Howlester fleet is given an order to “ is remaining troops near the Elven City” which is thoroughly not understood by the captains, resulting in the fleet simply not leaving port and a request sent to house Howlester to supply an Admiral that speaks proper common, and sends orders that are longer than 8 words.

In response to the ongoing crisis in Dragenthal, Rosendahl and Haagenvig and Celyreos troops were ordered into the borderlands of Fidston to form a shield wall to deter the Old Rebels from crossing. Numerous things go wrong with logistics here. Firstly, when Celyreos and Haagenvig troops arrive, the Baron of Fidston refuses them access, acknowledging their righteous intentions, but claiming that the Old Rebels are six time in number to the Haagenvig led coalition, and that if the Haagenvig army was permitted to take a stance, it would only provoke the Old Rebels to invade Fidston which remained out of the Old Rebellion up to that point. Furthermore, despite expecting Rosendahl vessels with troops, these never actually arrive and all troops go back home.

The Rosendahl troops which were shipped from Pétange were sunk off the coast of Mrschl after they ran into a blockade of du Pont and Ravenstad vessels, outnumbering them 15 to 1. The Rosendahl ships indicated they were shipping troops through the Brixe strait to Dragenthal, but the Ravenstad and du Pont vessels did not comply, and after a few warning shots that the Rosendahl ships did not comply to, opened fire, absolutely decimating the Rosendahl fleet and killing hundreds of soldiers on the transports, citing a violation of the non-militarization of the Peirgarten lands. The soldiers who were swimming were rescued afterwards and sent back home, without armor or weapons, severely crippling the Rosendahl military forces back home.

In the Peirgarten lands meanwhile, numerous organizations continue a local PR effort. The Synod and various Reverends descend on Lorhauser to offer relief effort, while even Harhold troops hand out grain shipments from Anglia to destitute peasants whose corps they trampled just before. Finally, also General dei Termini of the du Pont troops continues to provide local aid efforts to ease the burden of occupation. Indeed, the lack of proper response from house Peirgarten results in a somewhat accepting of fate response from the people who see the occupation as a likely longer lasting trial. House du Pont also sent its own members to start assimilating the Peirgarten economic structure to siphon their income directly to the du Pont administration. While the occupation thus continued, scribes speculate that the Peirgarten economy would integrate into the du Pont economy a quarter per week, finishing complete integration within four weeks. The populace created no formal resistance after the official communique from their countess, which to them essentially just came down to a promise of prayer and a lot of angry baked air with no actions. There was no counter coalition, no counter invasion, and no actions publicly made against House du Pont from any of the other houses. As such, the population essentially gave up, especially now the du Ponts did very little to actually cause strain on the people. They continued their daily lives, but were expected to pay a different family. This posed a curious situation. By Imperial law, outright annexing the Peirgarten lands was illegal and impossible, though after economic integration, unless someone actually went out of their way to disrupt the process, Peirgarten lands would effectively start functioning like part of du Pont lands, if not in name, at least in practice.

After Harhold sent his relief efforts to Lorhauser, he himself sailed with 5,000 troops to the Anglian Veer in an attempt to make a show of force to subject the local barons by force. Unfortunately, by the machinations of house Tyrannian’s alliance, the Old Rebels acted like an early defense net and functioned perfectly as intended against the landing of Harhold forces. As soon as the Harhold forces landed, they were outnumbered 10 to 1, and his entire army was practically cut short, mass-deserted and fled from under him. What was left was Harhold being tossed around in ridicule by a few Dragenthaler Old Faith ex-Rebels who now safely lived in the Angle Veers, imprisoning him in a cage filled with decomposing dog corpses and beheaded wolfhounds, before sending him on a raft with only dog bones as paddles back to the Anglian mainland. While certainly crude and not directly ordered by any of the Anglian Veer houses, this act of humiliation against house Harhold was awarded to house Tyrannian by having one of the local Barons pledge allegiance to him and proclaim him protector of the Veer against Kade and Harhold encroachment.

Domenico Alferi’s attempted push against the Elven Cities continued once more in failure to deliver any meaningful results. The 125,000 troops had simply achieved their logistical maximum, extending a border that was larger than the cross diameter of the Regalian Archipelago, and thus being unable to counteract an Elven army of equal size that was frequently far more concentrated, and could simply retake any city that Alferi had to abandon to make a push, resulting in a constant cat and mouse game of taking and losing cities.

Finally, a massive force of von Treppewitz’s army commanded by Percival Ravenstad, Christopher Black and Dietrich Drache themselves investigated the supposed ransacking of Ravenstad levies in the Dragenthal lands. Despite their massive concerted effort, there was not a trace to be found aside from the very obvious conclusion that the Ravenstad troops were in fact not Ravenstad, but must have come from Vixhall, Anglia, or Rivellia, as there was concrete evidence to suggest no-one crossed the borders from the east, thus eliminating the possibility of demagogues coming from Calemberg or the Leutz lands.

Finally, the chapter of Dragon crisis in Regalia was finally coming to a somewhat anticlimactic if abrupt end. With the loss of Arken under her control, and with an increase of Arken on the prowl to eject her, combined with the Imperial Dragon gaining more skill and understanding of how to act like a Dragon, a final fight occurred between the Dragon Rikkira and the Imperial Dragon aided by various groups who had already fought Rikkira in the past. Numerous towers and cathedral spires were used to mount cannons, taking aim at the denounced Dragon while it struggled with the Imperial Dragon above numerous districts of the city. Cannons were fired, numerous houses were destroyed by collateral damage, but eventually the hopelessness of Rikkira’s fight was becoming obvious. The vile Dragon eventually attempted to flee, the Imperial Dragon in pursuit high in the clouds, though after two hours, only the Imperial Dragon returned.

Rikkira was last sighted crossing westward towards the direction of the Dread Empire by the Black Armada, which reported the news back to the Imperial City. The Dragon Crisis, as such, seemed to be over. Anyone still under the control of Rikkira, or under the Imperial Dragon Control was released, all Dragon Magic seemingly fading from the Imperial City as the Rikkira Dragon was now hundreds of miles away. Still, the end of the Dragon Crisis was perhaps fittingly such a small event, given the far more tense ongoing crises in the Archipelago and the wars in the west.

    OOC Summary:
    • Rikkira is gone and anyone under either Emperor or Rikkira influence is now free. The Dragon reportedly fled west to join with the Dread Empire for reasons unknown.
    • The battle against Rikkira was fairly open ended, meaning anyone is permitted to write themselves into it. If they want to say their character shot a bow with a few arrows, loaded or shot a cannon against the Rikkira Dragon, they are permitted, as long as they do such a roleplay short story on this thread. This thread will lock in the near future to allow this to be a limited time opportunity.
    • More chaos in the Archipelago, we’ve decided to create a summary thread to track the ongoing crises: https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/archipelago-tension-registry.65017/

Stigandr returned to his little slum home after the attack on Rikkira, setting his bow against the wall he grabbed a cup of homemade mead. Slouching in his sleeping roll, he wondered aloud to himself, "I wonder if Garth will give me a raise for fighting a Dragon? Eh, probably not." He then chuckled to himself, heading off to go tell the General of his actions.

"La gatta frettolosa ha fatto i gattini ciechi."

Enzo raised his glass to some of the fellow rentinues, Tyrannian and Garret before downing it all. Or at least that's what he remembers.

Juliette gave a loud cheer- her mourn of Valentius lost on her for the time being, the dread of issues and such alike lost as she caught the news of the dragon's leave. The Ithanian mutt found herself a drink and rose it high as she declared in celebration:

    "The Dragon B!tch is dead!"

Daniel White took off his helmet, looking around the now empty sky, where the Imperial Dragon and the Heretical Dragon Rikkira had been battling. He looked over the Cannon he had been using with a few of his comrades, and only said “Do you think we actually hit a single shot on that fat b!tch?” Right after, he’d Chuckle. He then started to work on dismounting the Cannon with the other Hightower’s. @Pellaeon @Arendan

Leon Claudio stood with his brothers in action Artiemus, Carwell and Tyrannian. He turns his head towards them with an awkward look on his face

"Was tossing the man into a pile of dog heads and making him raft himself with dog bones apart of the plan we discuss...?"

When Rikkira disappeared, and her control over The Mother burned away into nothingness, and Lyal’amna, the real Lyal’amna, woke up. All of that former strength and new found confidence which had been granted by Rikkira shattered with her disappearance, and old anxieties and sorrows rekindled. As she awoke she was happy to be free...but the damage was already done, and tears continued down her cheeks. Now she had twins to bring up as well as a raging fear of so much in the world, in the city...she just lay there, immobile, hugging the newborns closely. Free, and broken once again.

Kahn however laughed and roar-like laugh at the event. A good show for true. That showed you whose boss, eh Rikkira, you lizard-like cur?!Then he went to go and grab a good whiskey. Good show indeed!

Lazaruz d'Soleil offered as much as he could in the battle, helping organise and manage the swarm of fighters to the best of his ability.

Enzo Celyreos grew distraught upon hearing of the sent back troops, and even more so the sunken Rosendahl ships.. He'd write to Jamie when he'd composed the correct words.

Ascal Heilen in high alert peer with faintly luminous eyes behind his armor to his fellow guardsmen before he brings them to the sky in time to see the airborne serpent charge off. He’s far too weary, grumbling,

“The cow is to return the moment we agree she is not...”

He opt to keep his helmet on for the time being. The towering figure of a man turning to face his fellow armored troops, raising a gauntleted fist and roaring in a sudden bout of hearty triumph,

“And we shall finely skin her leathery arse when the time comes!”

Alisteir Vulcrosti would stand in the middle of the streets, looking up at the sky. The Dragon he had regarded as the true and rightful ruler of Regalia was gone. Not for some master plan to take over and restore peace to Regalia, no, it was out of cowardice. And now Alisteir was angry, and ready t devote the rest of his life to getting the answers he needed.

Fling, flew one of the arrows from the one eyed Galloviand bow. Joshua Boyd had taken position on top of the rafters in the slums as the massive battle raged overhead, shooting arrows mostly at Rikkira though a few one or two probably bounced off the Imperial Dragon.

However, as he started off for his home after the battle he began to think. The Imperial Dragon was great but why was he feeling a pull to him? Why did he feel that dragons we’re superior in the first place? All of these thoughts rang through his head as he made it home, his tainted mind finally being cleared.

After departing from the Treppewitz Army at the border of the Drache lands, the count marched the army back to the Narlas border, where he assessed the situation for himself. After a few hours of inspection, the noble and his private retinue rode back to the Dragenhurst capital for a few days of catching up with the family. After some long desired reunions with the relatives, the minister finally returned to the City of Light, hearing the rest of the situation in the Archipelago and beyond.

    ====================
The Höghstaubne Castle was as lively as ever, with the Viridian Paladins working with the Elders in training the next batch of Pages set for graduation later in the year. When word came up regarding the ensuing battle in the city proper, the Twindragon Paladin departed from training to ride back along the roads to the capital. After climbing one of the several hills along the way, he witnessed the shadows of two creatures rising from the city walls to the clouds above, where they disappeared.

He waited there, hearing a few roars thundering from the heavens, praying to an individual that so many years ago was in the stockades of the former Viridian Castle. After what seemed like an eternity, one Feathered Dragon descended from on high, the other nowhere to be seen. Hearing faint cheers carrying in the wind, the Paladin turned around and began the ride through the wilderness back to the rest of the order.

Erwald Ravenstad had been eager to engage in the final conflict against Rikkira, especially after his uneventful trip to the Elven Seas. Borrowing a crossbow from the Hightower arsenal, he had been seen firing into the sky with gritted teeth and a look of determination to bring the dragon crisis to an end at last.

As the Imperial dragon returned alone, the Ravenstad had refrained from joining the celebrations and instead returned to Eleng to collapse into bed beside his wife after the stressful and eventful week. @SnugglyKittens

Aelfric Aherne stepped out of the Cathedral where he and a few other curates and Reverends took shelter during the battle. He looked up to the sky and screamed with a fist in the air, "The beast is gone! That Dragon b!tch is gone!"

Katrina, upon hearing the news, exhaled a long sigh of relief. Her work was done, for now. She had followed the Frostweaver's command to some extent. However, she knew that they were far from out of the woods. Many threats had come to light, most of which she was left near helpless against. And so, as the sun set over her new home, Katrina readied herself for yet another tireless night of plotting and scheming for what was yet to come.

*Sebastian heard about Rikkira being in town upon his entering of Regalia, he had only his longsword upon him, but he witnessed the battle between Regalia and Rikkira. Amazed at what Regalia has been through, he smiles*

"About fucking time," Czylle commented to her husband as he collapsed into bed. The woman had returned sooner than he, also having opted to refrain from celebrations and instead headed home to see her first born.

"Can we get back to normality now?" @Battlebrawn

Nouveau grumbled as she collapsed into the comfortable sheets of her bed, mumbling and whining as she tossed her spear aside. Pleased with the work she’d done to help that day, she trained her gaze onto her favored cat, muttering to the animal as though it would respond.
Violet, d’ya think she’ll be gone for good this time? ‘Cuz I don’t. Nothing lasts forever, y’know?

From atop one of his castle's towers Robert Carwell looked down at the rebels that now milled about in his lands. He scratched his beards "They did well." he said to one of his own men, there were scarcely any real Carwell soldiers left in the Veer, most were off at war. "Aye, they sure did my lord. Hardly any causalities." Robert nodded "See to it that we begin to arm them with proper weapons and uniforms, we don't need an army of men in rags. And send my thanks to Lord Tyrannian."
