A Velheimer Wedding

A warm breeze filled the air of the temple of fire. The braziers cast the chamber in a comforting light when mixed sparse rays of sunlight piercing through the roof. The temple would be filled with House Haagenvig along with their guests, friends of the to-be-weds, and any number of Velheim that needed a break from the chaos of the world. At the altar would stand Bjorgulf Haagenvig, the excited groom, dressed in black leather with a Imperial Stag's pelt draping over his shoulder, his moss and bark arm showing from under the pelt. Kætheryn Ojørnasdöttír stood outside the temple in an elaborate wool dress with grey fox pelt around her neck, a bright, and for her unusual, smile adorning her face as joy overcame her. It was a clear and bright day, seemingly made by Ellea just for the two to enjoy.

Bjorgulf shifted his feet some anxiously as all his emotions raced through his head. This was a change in his life for certain, a new chapter on his tired soul. Kætheryn was equally excited, ready and joyous. This was a new age for her as well, a change of pace to say the least. This, for them, was a calm and tranquil yet exciting moment in their lives, free from noble's feuds or clicker attacks. Just a wonderful, warm day.

The ceremony began quickly, or at least that's what it felt like to them. Kætheryn began to walk in. Though all the crowd's eyes seemed to be on her, she couldn't honestly feel them as she locked eyes on Bjorgulf's deer-like irises. She continued slowly stepping as her heart along with Bjorgulf's began beating faster, like a drumming in the distance. Once she reached the altar, they took into each other's hands. After a moment, the priest nodded to them and handed them each an armband and spoke, "Present the bands to each other, as a sign of your unbreaking devotion." First to Kætheryn, a silver sea-serpent headed ring, the band spiraling around to where the two heads were facing each other, representing Bjorgulf's blood. Second, an armband to Bjorgulf of very similar design though instead of a serpent it depicted an ornate wolf's head, representing Kætheryn's blood. Then, together they placed the bands on each other's wrists before waiting for the priest to begin.

The priest spoke gently, his voice carrying on the breeze, "We are gathered here today under Ellea's loving gaze. We are here to commemorate the beautiful blessing of binding two young Velheim in love." Bjorgulf squeezed Kætheryn's hands just slightly as the priest spoke again, "Bjorgulf Haagenvig, do you take Kætheryn to be your wife and to be bound together in Ellea's bright love now and forever no matter the earthly circumstance?" Bjorgulf smiled, still staring into Kætheryn's foggy blue eyes "I do, now and forever." The priest nodded, now looking to Kætheryn, "And you Kætheryn Ojørnasdöttír, do you take Bjorgulf to be your husband and to be bound together in Ellea's bright love now and forever no matter the earthly circumstance?" Kætheryn smiled, nodding slightly as she looked deep into Bjorgulf's deer-like eyes, "I do, now and forever." As she spoke, to them all of time seemed to freeze around that moment before the priest spoke again, "Then, I, by the power invested in me by the Union of Fire, pronounce you two to be husband and wife."

The temple erupted into cheer, as the newly-weds shared a kiss. The wedding was carried outside into the evening day, as the families now bonded together shared a large feast, with plenty of ale and food and dancing and partying as the reception carried on into the night.

House Haagenvig and House Viduggla were the main guests present at the wedding. Along with friends of Kætheryn and all Velheimer which were invited.

The Url wishes the couple the best, the stress of many weary days and the upcoming advent of his own wedding had weighed heavy, but here he was free. At peace as he honored the Maiden of the Flame and wished the best upon his friends, but as he talked and conducted the minor rites due Ellea from his part as guest. He couldn't help but wonder in the reaches of his mind the questions that had plagued his mother and driven her to from her home amongst the Northmen to the Highlands of Gallovia seemed to dance across his mind. But he took comfort in the Isldar by his side and together they congratulated the couple and partied into the night. @Naganadel_

Torhilde av Kongehjem Lok-Volkar sends the newlyweds two bottles of quality vodka as a wedding gift, with a note in Skodje, "Bashturr protect your union between each other, and may Mershell make it a happy union at that."
