Hey,

as some of you might know I am an old massivecraft user from around 2012.. I used to play every single day for quite some time while leading a huge faction at the time.

I quit one day to focus on school and just came back recently after 6 years of absence or so...

I restarted playing with some irl friends on the server I once was addicted to (litteraly).

I quickly realized something really sad for me.. Massivecraft is NOT what it used to be... the server barely reach the 100 players cap..

SO, I am not here to blast, insult or anything like that about Massivecraft. I am a die hard fan of this community but I find it surprising to see how the server is now..

What happened.. ? why do I have the feeling to be alone on the server no one in factions.. ?

If anybody can explain me how we got there.. PLEASE do so.

Or if anybody can show me some hope that I clearly don't see right now.. Would be amazing.

I want massivecraft to be amazing ! I just think it's far from what it was when I left !..

Thanks for your feedback ! Once again I am not there to insult massive AT ALL, on the other hand I want to see it from a better perspective.

PLEASE HELP YAP.

Actually the server is usually over 150 in the evenings EST! You might have just been on during a lowtime.
been playing back for couple days now with some friends we saw more than 150 players once... back in the days it was 150 players always now its lower then 100 players most of the time.. anyway that's not really the focus of my post!

Partially Minecraft not being as popular as before, also other changes. I'm more of a noob in terms of the server history missing out on the glory days of the early years, but there's still some fun to be had still.

Super-factions brought down factions in my opinion, they sucked up all the players and then people got bored because there was nothing to do in them. But I like the new changes.

We're trying to fix that. I've written too many posts about what we are trying to do to fix the problems with factions. We aren't trying to return to a "2012 atmosphere", we are trying to make the factions environment a full immersive and enjoyable experience for all player types.

There were once two fish that lived in the massivecraft pond. Both fondly named RP and Factions, they lived in harmony with one another, sharing the vast player base between themselves. However as times got tough, RP decided to take matters into his own hands, in an act of betrayal and desperation he swallowed his brother Factions, seeking to retain the player base for himself! However factions was a fat fish, he would not be devoured so easily! Thrusting his tail so that it protruded from his brothers mouth, Factions wiggled furiously to break free, but alas the digestive juices had done theit job. By the time the fish keepers had salvaged factions from the mouth of his brother he was already a decomposing corpse. But do not fear little child! For we all know that dead fish will one day shed their shells and become beautiful butterflies. And that my friend is exactly what happened.

Lots of stuff has changed man, some for the better, some for the worse. New staff team, new worlds, new plugins, etc.

Saddens me to realise that a lot of old pvpers are gone now too. Nobody from factions like Magnanimus, Algaron, Osai, or any of the even older facs like Imperials still pvps actively these days

yo! okay, don't sweat it, i will tell you.

mrs baver the wife of mayor ninjabaver wrapped all of ceardia in a tortilla shell and fed it to the archdemon. everybody moved to a new place called regalia to avoid being devoured in the aforementioned burrito. once they arrived there it turned out they could play safe and have fun and never be clicked to death by wild savages.

then many years passed of peaceful harmonious fruitful roleplay in regalia while wild savages could only click players to death in the yee-haw cowboy wild west of factionland.

after five years the results of harmonious fruitful roleplay are: dozens of players in regalia at any given time. lots of fun environments, lots of cool backstory. a solid long-running team of authors, artists and innovators that produce ever-changing but consistently enjoyable results.

after five years the results of wild wild west are: ten or so given players on any faction map on average throughout the day. so so so many public freakouts and pronouncements of rage on the forums by faction-world players who let the stress drive them savage before they ultimately faded into obscurity. a gruesome gauntlet of pvp players that have amassed endless wealth, and endless dominance (not really, they mostly only can play against the same small handful of people over and over because everyone else won't play along).

and there you have it! things are pretty much the same. survival world is fun if you do it with friends, regalia is fun if you like to roleplay. alas, it is our biased nostalgia for how effing dope this server was in 2012 that makes oldies like us think that somehow our server is all messed up. but i'll tell ya, you're far from alone in feeling that nostalgia. almost all of us who are still floating around from those days remember it exactly the same as you do.

welcome back. hope you find your fun : )

We actually reach almost 200 on weekends pretty consistently now. Honestly, an absence of Cayorion and the general fact that factions is getting old without much content being added is resulting in a slight decline of players. However, MineCraft itself has changed significantly so I feel like a very different playerbase has something to do with it. Other than that, I think the main problem might be that the economy is a bit old and that everyone is generally pretty rich.

You didnt even play back than GHOST, lmao

What changes in regards to the new staff team were for the worse? Do you mean to say that the Thortuna/Gethelp staff team was better? Gotta disagree fam
As bad as tuna was, during her era the server was allot more alive and active, constant events either PVE, rp etc, massive music was a treat to look forward to, there was always something "big" happening

Past Game staff focused their resources far too much on singular activities, such as tickets and events.
