❉ How would your character respond to experiencing Fear?

➣ Seeing as the woman isn’t prone to running away from her problems, she often will stand her ground, and sometimes even lash out in blind rage against the fear-inducing factor, taking in the ‘fight’ part of the ‘fight-or-flight’ instinct. If the situation is beyond her control however, she is prone to freezing in place and acting far more fragile than normal: A rare sight, but not a unlikely one. Other reactions fear might induce include but are not limited to: Attempting to flee with all her might; kicking and screaming; full on sprinting out of the scene as fast as she possibly can or taking cover behind something or someone able to protect her from the fear-inducing factor.​

❉ How would your character respond to experiencing Stress?

➣ Ashlyn can be seen worn a ring on a leather string around her neck at nearly all times. The purpose of the ring is to be fiddled with, as this is how she copes with stress. Other forms she might show her level of stress is by biting her lips: Because of her self-sharpened canines, when experiencing high levels of stress she might bite her own lips too hard, and sometimes even draw blood from it by accident, which is a clear sign of how much distress she currently is in at the moment. Other give aways she might express when experiencing both lower and higher levels of stress is excessive twirling of strands of her hair, though she also does this when feeling embarassed; Ashie sometimes will also, if very frustated and stressed, carve useless trinkets to keep her mind off of things.

❉ How would your character express feeling Happy?

➣ Booze. More often than not Ashie will celebrate a victory or a spurt of happiness by ordering herself and her comrades a drink or two. Other signs that the woman is happiness are, much like her brother, ear wiggles. Her ears are expressive, and often she isn’t in control of how they react, so they’re a dead giveaway of what emotion she’s currently feeling. For example, when happy, her ears might flap, or their tips might wiggle: Even if her face expression doesn’t show how happy she is, her ears will. Another form she might express feelings of happiness, is by being overly 'huggy' and touchy towards her friends, even if not intoxicated.​

❉ How does your character view Law and Authorities?

➣ As a law abiding citizen that has to occasionally work around said laws, she finds certain specific sets of law rather annoying to deal with. Despite the light annoyance she feels towards certain rules, she couldn’t care less about how the city is run, instead focusing more on carrying on with her life. Besides her grudge with the law system, though, she will often play a vigilante-like role herself, and seek to protect those who cannot defend themselves, even if that means going head-to-head with law reinforcing agents such as the guards, etc.​

❉ How does your character feel about Races other than their own?

➣ To put it rather simply, in regards to half races: She finds them cute. The product of love, sometimes forbidden and that society chastises, is something she feels inclined to protect. Perhaps by her inner motherly nature, or maybe because she feels as if her own brother is chastised in a way, Ashie feels protective of them. In regards to full races though, she generally feels indifferent about them, and wont go out of her way to socialize with any of them unless she finds the personality of the person in question interesting. In other words, if she feels as if someone is dull and boring, independent of their race or gender, she often will show signs of boredom. Ashie, however, finds Altalar and half-nelfin by far the more interesting of the bunch by default, due to a deeply seeted bias inplanted deep within her mind.​

❉ How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths?

➣ Being a casual worshipper of Estel, she sees that as the proper religion to be followed, due to her father's teachings being deeply embeded into her. However, she couldn’t care less about other religions, and would not go out of her way to neither chastise or learn more about them, though if the information does come around to her she will listen, especially in regards to unionism seeing that the current laws make it so non-unionists are likely to be punished for not believing the Spirit. As such, she knows enough to keep herself safe, and pass as an unionist, even if she despises the religion. Even so, however, despite being indifferent she often will show displays of high annoyance if faced with an attempt of converting her to any faith that isn't the one she believes in (Estel), if the person in question happens to be a messager/priest/priestess for whatever faith they are preaching, as she sees that as indoctrination as ridiculous as that may sound. This is moslty due to the severity of which she was brainwashed.​

❉ How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world?

➣ Ashlyn is indifferent. The Slizzar lass does not come in encounter with it often enough to pay attention to them. She wont react unless that it somehow threatens her or her loved ones. In which case, she’ll cautiously try to learn about them and their weak points, as means to help herself and other prepare for the worst. If the magical or arcane happen to be passive though, she likely will simply not bat an eye, and opt not to question it. Even so, if the nature of the being is unnatural looking, a mutation of sorts, or fear-inducing just by the looks of it, she will default to expressing either distress or fear about the situation (of course this heavily depends on what is occuring before her, and her reactions may vary from experience to experience).​

❉ How does your character feel towards their family?

➣ She feels an immense sense of respect for both her father and brother, and loves them both to the point of doing anything for them (though she will often favor her little brother, due to being overprotective of him). Ashie will stop by no means to help fix their issues, and even give advice whenever possible, as she wishes them the best and would trust them with her life. In short, family is everything to this woman. All that being said, she recently has forgotten about them, which fills her with feelings of sadness at the thought she can't even remember their faces.​

❉ What is your character's biggest insecurity?

➣ Perhaps one of her biggest insecurities is to be seen as lesser than she is: Ashie see's her feminine traits as a sign of fragility and will often prefer putting on an androgynous look: That being said though, she doesn’t feel ashamed of being feminine, or masculine for that matter. Often though, she will feel offended when referred to as ‘curvy’ or when comments are made about her body, as she highly dislikes having attention drawn to it. The lass also may feel insecure due to the stress of expectations being put on her, in short her insecurities come from the worries and fear of somenow not living up to the image others expect her to portray.​

❉ What is your character the proudest of about themselves?

➣ By far her combat abilities, as well as her artwork. Other things she’s proud of include but are not limited to: Her brother (she has faith in him, even if he isn't related to her by blood), as well as the bond she has made with her father and pet companions along the years. Other than those, she also is proud of the people she was able to meet and converse with, how she has been able to protect herself and brother from their father, as she has a baseless belief if she didn't protect the Altalar he would fall in harm's way at the hands of his dad. ​

❉ What motivates your character to move forward and better their life?

➣ Most prominently what keeps her going is both the need and wish to carry out the family name and business, as her father wanted her to, but Ashie is also motivated by her family and hobbies (more specifically carving and drawing). Other things that motivate her is the inner motherly sense of protection she feels toward people she deems uncapable of defending themselves, aswell as supporting friends she made through-out her life, and the wish to protect her family (more prominently her brother). All that being said, the lass is also motivated by sheer force of will, as she believes in her own strenght to rise above challenges, as though as they may seem: Hearing stories of success from others, and gaining advice from people also fuels her with determination to keep moving.​

❉ What is your character's biggest fear?

➣ To fall, yet again, into endless routine controlled by her father. She finds it not only boring but alarming when life goes by in such a slow pace that it feels as if she’s endlessly living through the same days over and over again: Because of this, she will often try to incorporate different activities to her day-to-day life, in hopes to make each day at least a little different from the other.

➣ Other fears of hers include: Sleep paralysis (the inability to move and the thought of being trapped in one’s own body is something that is sure to haunt the woman’s thoughts); cooking mishaps (such as burning a pan, as to her about one of the worst things that could happen is setting fire to her own residence); deep waters and the ocean/sea (even though she can swim, the thought of being carried away by endless waves without being able to swim back to shore scares the living hell out of her); among other minor fears not worth mentioning. Another fear of hers that is worth mentioning is the fear of unwanted or unexpected contact, due to being jumpy around strangers: She will often be startled and try to fight back with all her night not to be touched when she does not want to be, though her reaction isn't always as extreme.

➣ Born in september 21st, 233AC, in a slizzar breeding ground. The youngling was whisked away from her parents for a hefty sum of money. She was nothing but a replacement of a daughter to this poor man, who lost his prodigy child perhaps too early. The real Ashlyn had ended her own life a day prior, and her desperate father pulled strings to have his little girl back...Even if only in appearance. The man carried around a drawn picture of his beloved daughter, showing it in the black marked to captive Slizzar slaves until he came across one which shifted to a shape closest to the deceased Altalar. That was whom he chose, and brainwashed throughly to implant false memories of his real daughter. Fast foward to present day, and the recent events leading to her memory loss, the Slizzar's adoptive father did the woman one last favour: He paid for her medical bills and ship back to Regalia, but the man wasn't about to undergo yet another time he had to replace the creature's memories. Therefore... He left her to wander, only a shell of her former self.

❉Birth to Twenties❉
➣ Born in september 21st, 160AC, to a young loving Altalar couple in Daendroque, Ashlyn lived a normal quiet childhood. The lass took interest in her caring mother’s endeavours at a rather young age, and for a long time (at least until she reached ten years of age) she would favor whatever it was her mother said, and often throw tantrums when her father decided to discipline her, while listening to her beloved mother when she did so. Around her tenth birthday, however, things would slowly start taking a turn, as her father gave the young elf her first dagger, something she would cherish for many years to come: With this, and a new found curiosity for her father’s side, she would begin snooping around his shop, rather than staying around her mother like she previously often did. Of course, by this age she still hung around her mother, enough to learn a few things from her, such as an appreciation for singing and playing instruments (which later on would turn into a small hobbye of hers, used to pass time and relieve stress), as well as basic cooking knowledge (which later in her life would come rather handy). The young Altalar would keep switching between spending time with her mother, and favoring time with her father, until around the age of nineteen, when her Rychell was born. With the new found responsibility of being the oldest sibling, she began maturing from this point foward, insteaded focusing more on learning from her father all she could about smith work and the family business, although she would still be a rather present sister for her brother, and grow closer to him as years passed. While her brother would be sheltered by their mother from the judgemental eye of their father, Ashie wasn’t spared from it, being taught to expect nothing but perfection when it comes to smith work, as well as how the weak often perish, something that to this day stuck with poor Ashlyn. It’s safe to say that after her brother was born, the years of fun and games were basically over, although she doesn’t hold this against Rychell: In her mind, this was the best outcome possible, she wouldn’t want the same kind of pressure being put against her beloved brother instead, and would do anything to shield him from such. It’s also worth mentioning, that even as a child she never took a liking to the language of Daendroque: She learnt to understand it, but never took interest to learn how to speak it.


❉Early Twenties to Late Eighties❉
➣ Being still an apprentice to her father, Ashie wouldn’t face much change in pace for a while. The now twenty-year-old lass focused on the tasks at hand, making progress with her smithing abilities and fight training as well as working towards becoming the pride of her father, something which to this day she is (much to Rychell’s dismay, although he doesn’t seem to mind, and even aknowledges she’s a better choice for future head of the family than he’d ever be). It wasn’t until the Altalar’s 30th birthday though that she finally saw a change in routine: It was her time to set out on the elven pilgrimage, and acquire her very own blessing in the form of a ring of Talea, her choice being the inner court deity of Vallea (which she was partially led to choosing by her father, who advised her to choose a deity that would most benefit her lifestyle). Other than her pilgrimage, though, the year which she got her blessing was uneventful, aside from yet more mentoring in smithing practices, as well as combat tutoring. However, even with the strict training regimen she had with her father, Ashie still found time to hone her own hobby skills, as well as to learn a language she actually took a liking to: D’Ithanie. The years to come were more or less a series of repeating days, with little to no time to escapades besides the times the over-worked lass managed to practice her hobbies: Singing, music writing, instrument playing and animal taming.


❉Adulthood to Present Days❉
➣ From around her late eighties on foward, the grown woman would leave behind her father’s mentoring, as well as the many personal tutors previously hired to assist on honing the Altalar’s skills. She was finally free do do as she pleased: This was when she finally let her hobbies be a more prominent part of her life, going as far as taming her very own hound companion (that she often breeds with other hounds to keep the lineage going). Furthermore, she would travel around more, seeing as she was unable to for many years, and bring word of her family’s forge wherever she could, until she decided to settle down and open her own shop that is. Around the age of one-hundred, she would set sail to Ithania, where she’d set a shop and remain for a few years, indulging in their culture that interested her so much. This would last for quite a few years, as she got to know the locals and make a name for herself, making quite a bit of a fortune, to the point of having an incredible amount of savings she rarely made use of. Because of this, among other reasons, she recently decided to take her chances, move to Regalia, and set up shop, where she now remains. Recently however, while on a trip to Ithania (which she had made to purchase more materials for her forge) the poor lass got crushed by a crate. Thankfully with the helf of Altalar healers she survived, but at the cost of her precious memories... If they were even hers to begin with.

• 1) Removed nearly all of it, and instead just left the first sentence.
• 2) Tried clarifying the insecurity, I meant it to read as off it being something untrue that only she thinks and worries about, let me know if that still needs to be worked through!
• 3) Removed all mutations/quirks and replaced them with "none" (they were there simply because I didn't know where else to put quirks, as an extra of sorts).
• 4) Removed the other two languages and added an "illiterate" section (as an extra), let me know if you'd like me to remove that too and I gladly will though! (She wasn't supposed to be fluent in those two languages to begin with, I think that slipped past my google doc draft)
• 5) Added a small section to try and make it no longer contradictory, though I'm not sure if that fixed it, sorry if it didn't!

• Optional) Character is incredibly over-saturated with different niches and sets. A Smith, a Warrior, a businesswoman, an animal tamer, etc. While not enforced, I highly suggest a specific niche selected as it's not optimal to so many different niches.
  • I'm a little lost as to what I could do to fix that- overall Ashie was supposed to be a smith above all, with warrior skills, with smithing work being her only business and an animal-taming hobby to make it possible so she could have a wolf as a "pet". If you have any advice to give please do- I'll need it! Despite that, I think it's a tiny bit justified due to her age, since in my mind I thought she might get bored and pursue those things.
