The 1st Courteaux Life Guard battalion is the elite detachment within the d'Ortonnaise controlled army structure responsible for serving as ceremonial and practical household guards. The battalion itself is also subservient to the greater d'Ortonnaise house army, the 1st Imperial Reconnaissance Corps pending approval of the consulate. As such, all members of the Life Guard are also members of the Regalian Military, though not vice versa.

Uniform & Colours
Members of the 1st Courteaux Life Guard battalion are expected to don their uniforms whenever serving on duty, and to always respect the uniform & colours, especially the latter considering it was a colour courteously provided by the Emperor himself. All members will be provided their respective uniform (( OOC skin )) and will have their skins maintained and updated proper as they progress in ranks.
The base uniform includes half-plate with chestpiece, greaves, gauntlets and pauldrons above a dark purple gambeson. Over their chestplate, Life Guards are expected to always display the Golden She-Eagle, symbol of the d'Ortonnosaise on a black surcoat. The uniform includes an optional helmet in the style of a sallet.
Members of the Life Guard are also provided with a hardened steel chestplate they are expected to wear whenever on duty, above their waistcoat (which then serves as padding & fitting for the plate) and below their military coat. The chestplate is Dressolini-made, forged in three sizes and made to deflect to the side any cut, blow or thrust towards the chest that does not originate from a super-strong attacker or a military grade weapon.
The designated weapon of the Life guard is a long infantry sabre forged in Montania, capable of delivering accurate & dangerous stabs, thrusts, slashes and cuts. The weapons each are marked on the scabbard by their approved wielder's designation & identification.
Those trained in more exotic combat schools are given commissioned blades after ample service that fits their preferred style.

Some notes:
The 1st Life Guard is an conservative-Ithanian battalion accepting both men and women. There is zero differentiation between the two other than the ceremonies/uniforms. Women may serve, obtain military ranks and fight for the Empire within the Battalion or the Reconnaissance Corps.
This isn't the thread for the 1st Reconnaissance Corps. Here's the link to that. This thread / organization is specifically for those members of the Reconnaissance force who are also part of the house guard. You can't be part of the house guard without contributing to the war effort.
Furthermore:
The Life Guard is not a simple guard order. We aim to maintain it as a pro-active organisation by its own rights with events, fun and gatherings. Look below for some pictures from the past:
