◇ Character Identity Concept: Casper is a flashy individual. Regardless of what they say, they learnt that one of their biggest strengths is standing out and they darn well like it. It was a childhood dream to look like a creature from one of their favorite fairytales, as they grew older though they had their mind set on at least looking like they could be from one. Being an Altalar, they are naturally driven to be fascinated by magic, being inclined towards the arcane. In their teenage years, they studied staves and as the years went by they grew found of spars, something they don’t outwardly express. Over the many years they’ve been alive they’ve also collected many hobbies, having a passion for all things art. Being raised in Ciellonian Culture but wanting to connect to fellow Altalar also explains why they took the time to learn Modern Altalar.

◇ Skin | patches of skin on their shoulders that appear to be like specks of gold, smaller speckles of gold on their hands trailing up to their forearms like stars, faded gold ear tips, gold starry night back "tattoo", all shine when hit with light much like gold would. Freckles that are shaped like constellations. When casting: the smaller speckles glow, with a moon appearing on whichever hand is extended/used to cast the magic (if both are used, then both receive a moon), which also emit a faint glow. Their freckles can also glow faintly gold like stars when casting.

✽ Physical description:

◇Casper (naturally) has light brown eyes, dark brown hair, a dark tan skin tone, and a height of 5’8. Through mutations as listed above their eye and hair colors are modified. They usually wear their hair long but are not opposed to sudden haircuts, their philosophy being that it can just be regrown with a potion later. Casper’s hairstyle of choice is either tied out of the way in a bun or ponytail, half up half down styles of some sort (either with a bun or ponytail), and sometimes (albeit rarely) loose. Their frame is athletic, with average body fat, and their clothes are either loose and flowy or layered and stylish, but never dull. They often wear pink, blue, or purple, with lots of gold trimmings for a colorful flashy style, and always have a faint smell of refreshing lavender perfume.

✦✽ Childhood: Casper’s parents are both Altalar, their mother being a Suvial, and their father being an unusual Solvaan. They were born in Daendroque, living in the outskirts of a small town until 5 years of age, when his family resumed a nomad lifestyle.


✦◇ Adolescence: Around their 16th birthday, the Altalar’s family enrolled them in a self-defense class, as a precaution due to their protective nature. Their teacher, an older-looking Suvial Altalar, taught Casper how to avoid attacks, using distance as the best defense, which later shaped the student’s preference for pole weapons.


✦✽ Early Adulthood: Come their 18th birthday, as their parents were ready to move on to the next city, Casper parted ways with them, the young Altalar deciding to stay behind to continue their combat studies. During the time they spent studying under the guidance of their teacher, they also enrolled in a local school of arts, beginning to pursue what would later become their main passion. The following years Casper spent most of their time nose-deep into books, or practicing, both arts, combat, and his secret past-time of leading around a small group of mercenaries. Though they kept in touch with their parents via letters, they chose to omit from them all the misadventures they went through, aswell as all the experiences that led them to form their now strong negative opinion on vampires.


✦◇ Advanced Years: Come their adult years, the now mature Altalar decided, at the age of 35, to venture out and take after a nomad lifestyle once more, bringing their band along with them. The next few years they’d travel from town to town, picking up tips from fellow artists wherever they went, aswell as selling their own pieces at whatever local market in order to get money for the next trip, which was usually a month or two after his initial arrival, all whilst keeping their secret vampire capture-and-cure activities under wraps (of which the curing part was done by authorities Casp and their mercenaries would hand the sanguines off to).

✦✽ Present: They traveled town after town, city after city, honing and perfecting their craft, and eventually, around their 63th birthday, this pursuit for more artistic knowledge and more souls to redeem led them to Regalia, where due to a shortage of money they decided to stay a while longer than planned.

✦◇ Additional Backstory Details: They became a somewhat famous painter due to traveling around selling their paintings. Not super, famous but enough that a few may have heard about them.

✦✽ Many moons ago, a young Cielothar adventurer ventured out of the depths of her homeland, in a journey of self-discovery. She later met a Suvial entertainer, whom she came to marry. From her adventurous spirit, and his wandering inclination, a family of mostly nomads formed. Due to this the majority of Caspeann’s family consists of some type of Altalar, Cielothar, or half-elf from one of the two. They tend to live far from one another (if fixated at all). Casper’s parents are a few branches down the family line, their mother being a Suvial from said family, and their father being an unusual Solvaan, who fled his home town. During Caspeann’s mother’s pregnancy, their father was infected and forced to undergo curing from vampirism, the youngling thankfully was born non-afflicted, as their father seemed to have been turned after the pregnancy took place. This however meant that Casper was raised weary of vampires thanks to their mother.


✦◇ When the Altalar was born, the new family settled down in the outskirts of a small town, where they’d stay until Caspeann was about five years of age, sheltering the youngling out of cautious parenting. Come the child's 6th birthday, the family set to travel once more and resume their nomad lifestyle, this was also when Casperann started taking interest in some of their parent’s activities, and started occasionally following them around be it to street performances (with their father) or to the forest or marketplace (with their mother). Of course at such a young age Caspeann did not understand much of anything, but they were more than happy to just listen to their father pass around spoken knowledge like stories through plays, or to just watch their mother partaking in art and mundane activities. Their mother was more of the artistic free spirit type, collecting various plants from the wilderness or purchasing those same materials from the occasional cielothar salesperson to serve as art supplies for her paintings, she also took to sewing most of the clothing worn by the family, this contrasting with how their father was theatrically driven played an important role in the child's development. Caspeann’s family was always supportive, free-spirited, and open minded in their own way. The Altalar’s mother had always sympathized with the Ciellonian Altalar, ever since her teen years as a young nomad, and often spoke to local groupings of them during the family's travels, this later meant that come Casper's 10th birthday, the Altalar had already started picking up on not only modern-altalar (from their father) but also hints of plains-elven (from their mother).


✦✽ As came their teen years, it was clear that Casper was a bit smaller, a runt of sorts, which to some made them resemble more a Cielothar. This wasn’t anything to worry about though, as the teen wasn’t treated differently by their parents because of this, though they would often be the center of jokes amongst their peers (although as nomads Caspeann’s family never stuck around enough for the bullying to be substantial). Around their 16th birthday though, the Altalar’s family enrolled them in a self-defence class, as a precaution due to their protective nature. everything else besides the aforementioned remains the same, hence why I didn't highlight it, as it's pertaining to only one section

 

@Katiesc changed the points around a smidge, to loosely reflect current character goals- gave them linguistic knowledge, bumped down arts, remove medical science, and added healing grace instead at the cost of forgetting granny's remembrance (ironically enough, heh)

Everything else is the same, save from the language section that has been updated to include Daendroque as per the added linguistic proficiency, sorry if it's too soon for an update!

Edit: Ellaborated on the faith section to make it specific to the Cult of Ciellonia side of the faith, as I've been rping that due to their mother's close bond with Cielothar

Also added a void mutation, [void beast], with a little blurt as to justify why they have it, if this isn't possible I can remove it right away though

 

Changed around Combat (exchanged pole for staves as it fits better with staff use) and Arts profs, removed Linguistic knowledge, and added two combat profs (unarmed, fast blades). Also added athletic training and edited the bodystat to reflect these changes, this'll hopefully be my last edit in a while- this char has been developing way too fast with their current in-character interactions, I'm sorry if it's a bit annoying that I updated it so soon!
I'll also be re-taking a personality test as Casper, and will be updating that if the result is any different from their starting one, just to keep the mentality updated. edit: Turns out the change was minor, from INFP-T to ENFP-T

edit: forgot to mention that I added a little blurb under the following sections: bodycare, musical arts, visual arts, Daen (made it so they can't speak it fluently, but I still think it'd make sense for them to at least know a few words here and there and sorta understand it a little bit given they lived in Daendroque), staves combat and race!

Whew! This was in need of an update- here I go

• in the basic information section:
  Added "Ciellonian" in front of Fin'ullen, for extra specification, aswell as added an 'ailor name' section for some extra flare, nothing major, also updated the preferred weapon bit.
  also edited some of the wording under the mutations, just for clarity, all of them still remain aesthetic only (added an extra blurb to exist glow and reworded pagan maw a bit)

• in skill information:
  This is where I made the most changes, a near complete point overhaul
  Combat: Boosted unarmed up to 10 (previously 2), removed fast blades
  Arts: Removed visual arts, replaced with theatre arts, brought Musical arts down to 4 (previously 10)
  Body: Removed bodycare, boosted athletic training to 12 (previously 5)
  Ritualism remained the same
  Sorcery: replaced one path with Fired for battle, added Faces of life, and removed conning familiarity.

..I thought that was within the limit? since the wiki says maximum of 2 abilities (and aesthetics arent abilities)

Removed three aesthetics- I think- or was it two.. Either way, now there's only 2 abilities, and 2 aesthetics (for sorcery)
then 2 ritualism aesthetics and 2 ritualism abilities

Major update as I bring this character back from the dead!
Changes are as follows, otherwise I'd have to highlight a good potion of the app​

Gender: minor rewording, it's still the same but I felt like adding flare
Race: edited slightly, retconned Broodness
Preferred weapon: removed unarmed, and again- added flare text
Inventory info: expanded the number of regals they carry, just for funsies and risk-taking in case they ever get pick-pocketed
Proficiencies: major overhaul

• dropped unarmed combat, stave stays the same
• added frontline command
• added dextrous rogue
• removed bodycare, removed vocal singing
• removed drawing arts, added more points into painting
  
• whimsy and lightness sorcery didn't change, spirit got two spells 'swapped' (I don't think you can canonically swap them, so I'm retconning the previous two spells and going with the narrative that this was their spell set all along). The spells changed were [fired for battle] and [your will is mine], which were swapped for [self-control and [one path]

In light of the recent update, I updated this app again- With some minor adjustments:

• Changed the race from Fin'Ullen Altalar to Solvaan altalar- which fits the character's personality and goals much better
• adjusted frontline command accordingly, as there's the solvaan boost- the spare talent point was put into dextrous rogue
• Removed Vallea's guard completely as this character believes in a mix of the Altalar and Cielothar version of the faith- which doesn't count and therefore the character cannot use this ability
• Changed the physical stat cap from 25 to 20, to reflect the race change
• I also edited the racial abilities section accordingly, replacing the Fin'Ullen abilities with Solvaan ones instead
• Changed the mention of Casp's father being a Fin'Ullen to him being Solvaan instead (in the backstory section)

Lmk if I missed anything! Everything else remained the same @festiveCorvid

I forgot to check this thread and just got around to making the changes now
I'd like to keep them as Solvaan, so to remedy that I edited the backstory (aka replaced mentions of one of their parents being cielothar, I kept their great-great-grandmother as cielothar still since I figure that many generations of altalar blood being added would eventually make them just altalar) to make it clear both parents were altalar, and added a blurb to clarify they were raised in cielothar culture but aren't cielothar themselves
