Around New Town & Old Town, a certain black-haired half-Varran could be seen placing these flyers up. The contents read the following. HINDERING NOT HELPING The Holy city of Regalia has seen a recent and increasingly frequent rash of vigilantism in its streets. Rather than allowing a sufficient group of guards to conduct their work in peace, these intrepid, yet woefully unhelpful citizens have taken it upon themselves to take matters, illegally, into their own hands. By Mercenary Law, Guard Commanders are willing and able to contract those interested into mercenary service by simple orders given, even on short notice if reinforcements are needed. If said assistance is needed, guard charters themselves can request such when the time arises. Under State Law, Regalian Common Law no. 18 – To commit to vigilantism, or to endeavor to enforce Regalian Law without the legal authority to do so, is illegal. In Addition to State Law, Regalian Mercenary Law no. 3 – Mercenaries must obey Regalian Law Enforcement orders from Guard Charter Commanders. We the Arcanum do not release this notice in an attempt to hinder legal assistance or prevent civilians from self defense, as they are within their right to protect themselves within reason. Rather, we simply reach out with intent to inform those uninformed that there are better ways to act and that we are absolutely open to acting on Mercenary Laws to allow those outside of Regalian Charters the chance to act. A certain Archblood stumbled along one of the notices during their late-night prowling as she reached out to snatch up the flier and read it aloud, only to respond with a dull reply of "Okay. I don't care."
A cloaked warrior would look upon the notice, ripping it from the wall and looking at it in silence. “Have they caught on to what we’re doing?” he would later say, “Or are their others like us out there?” “Only time will tell, I suppose. I need to inform the others.” With that, the warrior puts the notice in his journal, and sets off back to his home.
"Damn," stated Sen'ming, reading the notice. He smirked as he took a sip of his sa'ke after reading the remaining portion. "More wrapping paper."
“Vigilantism in these streets again?” Alaric took a pause, tapping his hand on his chin as he began to think. “Good that we enact mercenary law. Dutiful citizens we are.”
“Oh, absolutely right.” He scratched gently at his blackened hair, spending only a moment to think his next words as he held both sides of the paper in front of him. "These poor citizens shouldn't be getting themselves hurt." A rather callous tone marking his speech, his face held straight and held a slightly cynical warp to it--sarcasm falling from his every word. He huffed, and straightened his gold-rimmed coat. Abandoning the poster and whatever conscious thought it stuck to him, he turned around and continued his endless walk throughout Regalia's streets.
While loitering near where the Arcanum hung up the multiple flyers that scattered notice boards and some of the printed parchments that were now crumbled on the ground, a Nelfin absently itched at her head as she’d quizzically observe individuals passing and their vacant commentary before making her own to an armoured Halfbreed at her side, “Have you noticed as well that the civilians have been a touch angsty as of late? Quite the display of monologues and talking to one’s self. Perhaps that new practice of therapy should gain State funding.”
A url would see the commander and give his two cents “We are always like this Nym, besides not like you can 100% stop most this. Since most self defense in this city, comes with kidnappings or assault two occasions any bystanders are almost always dragged into.” he sighs “not exactly like most of us will allow another regalian to be abducted while we have to run across the city to Greygate or the sometimes manned checkpoints.” @Katiesc
Karp read over the notice and recalled the times Nym mentioned vigilantism while he was most assuredly performing vigilantism. The knight glanced back and forth before whistling an innocent tune, wandering off.
