He was raised in a brothel as his mother was a prostitute, though she still tried to shield him from the darker side of the world, masking their culture and heritage as simple parlor tricks. As he grew he learned music and dancing, as well as lying through his teeth at patrons. He discovered religion at a young age, finding more kindness from the few who practiced paganism and the old gods, the simple logic fascinated him and as such he adopted it whole heartedly. A few weeks after his 30th birthday, his mother decided to tell him a bit more about them and other Kathars as a whole, to which he took surprisingly wll, mostly because he didn't truly see himself as one of them. When taught about sires, he chose to be lead by Lumeria, who his mother twisted to be a more motherly role. Eventually, his mother died, leaving him alone where he too sold himself for money, becoming a bit of a favorite at his brothel. This however did not save him from the prejudice of other races, often getting beaten and abused by guards and drunk patrons alike. One night he was assaulted by one of these drunkards in a back alley before being saved by a young Sihndar boy. They became quick friends as Val felt something he hadn’t ever before, love. His new friend, Alluin, taught him a bit about defending himself with a knife before later asking Val if he would become a performer with him, to which Val accepted. Val and Alluin went on to do small jobs and shows at taverns, some of which didnt end in them being beaten up and tossed into the back alley. Valeraen used his sorcery and other racial abilities as effects during shows, such as changing his appearance mid-song or having a swarm of paper swans fly through the crowd.

Also given your character is 55 you should have more than a single paragraph explaining their life. Most times people will have 4-5 or even more.
