Though it was probably obvious from first appearances, Cal’s birth came alongside several complications. Originating from the brief interloping of an unlikely duo, her existence was noted immediately and misattributed to an Altalar plantation owner and one of their Varran slaves. Hesitant to outright dispose of a Silven child, her birth was instead quickly swept under the rug in hopes of saving face and preventing the scandal from reaching the public eye. Sent off to a separate property, Cal was instead intended to be raised as though she were any other Varran - though of course, her distinguished status as both a half-breed and of magic descent gave the others enough of a hint to understand that she most definitely wasn’t one of them. Because of this she suffered exclusion from nearly all social circles, and Cal grew up maladjusted and socially inept - in essence, lacking a great deal in both force of personality and people-sense. Adolescence. Life went on as normal for some time, until a woman named Bast - a fellow half-breed - came upon the property during one of her travels and took note of Cal. Likely out of both an empathetic pity and interest in the creature that was Cal, Bast struck a deal with the property owner and offered to pay the Silven’s way out of servitude. Though the girl initially had reservations about travelling outside the walls of the plantation, Bast’s infectious confidence kept her reassured that it was ultimately for the best. Quickly, Cal came to agree and explored all the freedoms that her newfound life allowed. Young adult -- Present. Though her time with Bast was somewhat brief, Cal wasted no time in adopting her new path in life with a burning desire driving her towards self-improvement. In the years that followed her departure the Silven voraciously pursued any means of betterment she could find, beginning with her common, then world knowledge, and continuing on and on until she had taken on more subjects than she could reasonably handle. Despite this her enthusiasm hardly waned, and to this day she seeks out new subjects to tackle both to increase the quality of her own life and the lives of those who struggled like she did.

EDIT: Also updated to fit the new Halfling stats, just highlighted the Body Shape and Proficiency category rather than making the entire thing orange.
@Arendan Requesting re-review whenever you've got time. Completely changed proficiency section to fill a different role as a martial fighter. I know that changes on the new system aren't final but I wanted to get the go-ahead to swap things around before we make the jump.
