Height: 5’8 Body Build: Athletic Visual Information Spoiler: Expansion Blaire has sharp, angular features that give her a bit of a haunting appearance. Her eyes are her most prominent feature and are usually the first thing one notices about her. When she isn’t feeding, she has large, glowing green eyes that seem to catch the light in the room. Around them though, she has darkened skin that gives her eyes a smoky appearance. She also has no smile lines, which makes her look more youthful but her eyes hold a certain sadness. They always seem kind of turned downcast in a frown. Her cheekbones are high on her face and cast shadows down her cheeks, which makes her look either emaciated or solemn half the time. These lead down to her full lips which always have a rosy tint to them, the only thing warm with color on her entire face. To contrast her facial appearance, she has silky black hair that only draws more attention to her green eyes. She stands at the height of 5’8 but her boots add an inch onto that, she does this on purpose so she has more authority in her mind. Blaire hates being any shorter, she dislikes the notion of constantly being looked down on. Even though she has an athletic build, she still seems rather gaunt. Her collarbones stick out and are quite prominent, she accentuates this when she wears a dress with an open neckline. However, despite being gaunt she has a feminine figure with a narrow waist and hips that flare out. When she was younger she did not have this, though due to childbirth (years ago) this has given her a more female figure and helps her fit into dresses with ease. Her nails are filed down though she still leaves them a bit sharp, that being her first line of defense if someone were to attack her; she only uses her knives if necessary. Her voice is faint and quiet, she is soft-spoken and rarely raises her voice even when she is in pain. Blaire’s voice is gentle and honey-like, often containing either a tone of silent-wariness or mirth, she may have the appearance of someone who has never been happy their whole life but she has seen her fair share of joy in her life. Personality "Lightning shall rain down from the sky," How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? For most of her life she has been afraid, it has become an almost numbing feeling to her. If she does feel it, she will normally not express it very much unless she is horrified. The last time she experienced fear, she regretted doing so. Mentally though, she hates being fearful; she doesn’t handle being afraid very well. Normally, her reactions will be out of anger. That’s how she handles being afraid. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? Stress is an everyday thing for Blaire, but under immense stress she can be fairly resilient. It depends on the situation. Once something involves someone she loves, she loses all her skill with handling stress. Otherwise, she can keep a cool head. How would your character express feeling Happy? She loves feeling happy, she doesn’t make it a secret when she is, either. Often, she will smile and joke around to lighten the mood when with her friends. Those who know her, know that she can be rather bright and bubbly when she wants to be. It doesn’t happen very much anymore, but that’s because it’s been busy for her. How does your character view Law and Authorities? They’re the absolute bane of Blaire’s existence. Laws are a thing meant to be broken in her eyes, and that doesn’t bode well when dealing with the authorities. Her entire life she has been in trouble with them. It’s almost a guarantee that she will be in trouble of some kind with the authorities. However, she has a healthy respect for them. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? She doesn’t care very much due to her upbringing, she wasn't raised in the lands of her people. However, she doesn't care very much for Altalar due to her parents instilling in her that they are arrogant. Otherwise, she tries not to make race her main pre-judgement of someone, trying to pay attention to actions more than anything else. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? Blaire has a sensitivity to the topic of religion, most often ignoring the fact it was even brought up in the first place. If the subject is forced, she will deny that she believes in any deity; despite the fact her parents raised her up to believe in Estel and her eight children of the Avanthar religion. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? Her mother was a magic user. Ever since she was little, she has admired the arcane and been in love with the idea of it. However, as of recent she has become a Witchblood and it has shifted her view of magic somewhat. After the strangulation period of her transformation, she hasn't been able to accept them as readily as she would have been. How does your character feel towards their family? Blaire doesn’t have a family, but if she did she would love them. She has a new family, though, and she will make sure to protect them as best as she can. She failed her first family, she refuses to fail her loved ones again. What is your character's biggest insecurity? Love would be her biggest insecurity. It scares her to fall in love, and share it openly with other people. She doesn’t know how much her love is worth to people and she is terrified of leaving herself vulnerable. The past changed her view of love, she sees it as both a blessing and a curse. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? Her resilience. If we’re being honest, Blaire is surprised she has survived this long after everything that has happened. She knows that she is a survivor, and that she will make it through just about anything. Even though death has knocked at her door many times. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? The hope that one day she will finally be able to find someone to be happy with. Just hope in general, for better things, is what keeps her going. After losing everything that mattered to her, she just hopes that some divine plan will give her purpose. What is your character's biggest fear? The things that she has done; her past actions haunt her and keep her up at night. Blaire fears that one day karma will bite her in the ass and she will have to pay up for all the harm she has wrought on people close to her. Life Story "They shall cry out to their false gods," Blaire was born to Azrael and Judith, her parents were both Avanthar that had found each other in the city. They lived in Regalia for the first years of her life, and she grew up a very happy child. Her parents were turned, and within the first year they were sold out to the Guards and killed for heresy. She was devastated and alone at age 17, she met Vulcan who adopted her as his daughter. Within the first few years, they were very happy and he looked over her. Though problems arose when she fell in love with Asher Canswood. Asher and Vulcan hated each other, and she could not decide between the two of them. When Vulcan lost his wife, he went off the deep end. He proceeded to kidnap Blaire and chain her in his basement so she would not leave him. Vulcan forcefully cured her of vampirism while she was locked away in the basement. Asher figured out that Vulcan had taken her, and the two had a large ‘argument’ and it ended with Asher getting Blaire out of there and proceeding to turn her back. It was calm after that for a while, Vulcan broke into the Canswood Manor multiple times. Though it was quiet, Asher brought home a young girl named Ria one day. Blaire fell in love with the girl instantly, she had lost her own child a few years before so it was nice to have her. Ria and Blaire became close, she taught Ria a few different skills and they were tightly knit. Then things turned ugly when Vulcan kidnapped Ria, Blaire went out of her mind and became obsessed with getting her daughter back. Vulcan left after all of this and so did Asher, Blaire disappeared and went off grid. Now she is back and trying to find Ria. Blaire was cured of her Vampirism recently, by her own volition. However, soon after she was cured an infection set into some her wounds and due to her own ignorance, she almost died. She was close to death, however, she had good care and she was able to fight off the infection. A little while afterwards, she got a ringing in her head that seemed incessant. Then the green sight set in and she felt like her entire reality shifted around her. What she had been supportive of before no longer felt okay to her, Blaire thought she was going through an early midlife crisis. After she settled into the way she was feeling a bit, it all started changing again and she felt a near-sense of an anxiety when it came to those connected to the Void or the Exist. It took all she had to stay indoors, keeping to her room by her lonesome until it was over. Once she found out she was now a Witchblood, it hasn't settled well with her and she is having a struggle with accepting the green eyes. These days she doesn't care very much for vampires or the curse, seeing the entire thing as the reason why her life has been difficult thusfar. What she used to see as a gift, she now realizes is truly a curse. @Jonificus I made her an Avanthar, which didn't change much about her overall character. Her proficiencies have been changed and I updated her Witchblood mutations and life story.
