There was something almost amusing about rain on a wedding day, that being exactly what Elizabeth Black mused over as she peeked outside of the cathedral. Her fingers trailed briefly over the smooth white fabric of the wedding dress. Extravagance was a guilty pleasure of the once spoilt brat. Perhaps the confidence had always been there, or maybe she felt more up to the performance in the gown. No matter the reason, Elizabeth wanted to walk with purpose. The lateness of her father was nothing unusual. She had grown used to that.

Briefly shot her aunt and uncle a warm smile and a nod. Elizabeth owed that to them in the very least, for without their blessing, this day might have never come. She briefly dismissed the fearful thought of potential spinsterhood. It would not become a reality. What excited Elizabeth the most, was putting one step forwards into the life she had dreamed of.

The rays of light casted multi colored beams from the stained glass across the wooden floors of the cathedral. Religious hymns played gently on the harp and fluttered about the room. The guests in attendance included House Black and House Von Rahm, as well as friends and mutual acquaintances of the couple.

Elizabeth’s arm linked around her father’s as the music picked up in tempo. Each footfall thudded with purpose. Her hand slipped from her father’s arm as she stood at the Lord’s side. The priest before him made a pang hit Eliza’s heart- it was not her dear friend Reverend Harhold, who was currently missing. The vows carried forward, each dip of holy water marking a Unionist eye on their foreheads. Her heart lifted and held a sense of conviction. The warmth spread to carry the hopes of the days ahead. As the twelfth Unionist eye symbol was drawn on their foreheads, a flurry of trepidation hit Elizabeth as her heartbeat hammered with abrupt anxiety. The emotional rise was stifled quickly with a reassurance of her worth- a binding kiss to seal the union was meaningful and short-lived, the couple choosing to show a sense of modesty and propriety.

Her hand entangled in Lord Von Rahm’s grasp, glancing out over her new family members with a small smile. The attending guests were invited onwards to celebrate the union with a feast, followed by an evening of socializing and dancing.

Winifred, sitting in her powder blue dress at the front of the cathedral besides her kin, watched the ceremony with a more than nervous expression. Her fingers tapped against her palms as she had rested her hands atop one another in her lap. Despite the great wedding, the girl only appeared nervous from it and eventually slipped away from the following party.

Abigail did not attend, and instead stayed secluded, away from the public eye. She still couldn't quite muster the strength to leave the huddled corner she'd taken refuge in. She was still recovering from her newfound loneliness. She really didn't feel anything when told how the wedding went, how Elizabeth was now married, how happy she had been. She forced a smile to whomever had been tasked with telling her the exciting news, though that smile faded away as they left. Again, Abigail was alone. Forever would she be.

Ernesta sat on the pew happily, her eyes lit up in adoration as she watched the whole ceremony. Absolutely dazzled by such, a smile stretched upon her features as her gaze fell upon Elizabeth. Finally she was her kin, about time indeed.

Within a cell somewhere, the thought of such a wedding came to Aelfric's mind. He held a saddened expression that he could not perform the ceremony, however he prayed the wedding went well. Thoughts ran through his mind of the gift he would get for the couple when he was out of this wretched place.
