In the past months/half year we've used a complex rolling system to determine waiver B and C maims and wounds for player characters. The promise was always, high risk, higher reward. In theory this held up, but the problem was that the rolls were not separate. If you rolled badly on the wound roll, you would never get a chance for a reward, and all you would get is just an unrewarding maim or death. This means that, when we further investigated the roll system, that is was stupidly skewed in favor of wounding and maiming characters without actually providing any meaningful reward mechanic to soften the blow. As such, we have decided to following. Players who were either maimed or killed during the End of Year post (which ended the Freya Lo Occupation), and the Dulofall Curing Campaign (which went nowhere really), are allowed to retcon their wounds or death or request a lesser wound to be inflicted. To summarize for ease of reference: This is only valid for the End of Freya Lo's occupation event. This is only valid for the Dulofall Curing Campaign. This is only valid for the Battle of Rothburg occupation event. You may only do this for one of your characters. You may retcon a maim or death entirely, or request a lesser. This is not valid for character who requested to die during the events. In order to be valid for this, you must simply post a notification of your desire on this thread as followed: Character name that was affected. Link to Character Application. Short description of what happened to your character maim or kill wise. State what you would like to happen to said situation /void/lesser maim/ etc. Depending on whether you request a lesser maim, we will get back to you with a reply, and in case you simply ask for a clean retcon, you don't need confirmation or approval. As soon as you have notified your desire on this thread to roll back the effects of the event, they become canon.
Is my character affected by this, @MonMarty ? It would be handy to know. If not, does he get a reward to soften the blow? I ask only because it was also a world event that followed the maim perms, kill perms, rule.
I liked Amar going out on a high note, so I will leave his death as it was. It was a fitting end, and it kept the character from dragging on for too long.
thx for the tag :) Nathan Devolt The lower part of his right leg got chopped of and i'd like to Retcon it entirly. I like the pegleg, but i prefer a whole one :3
Name: Nendai-Ki No Chi Henja, the Slizzar Application: https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/nendai-ki-no-chi-henja.46718/ End of Year Occupation: The final door protecting the nobles in the royal chamber fell on his back. It broke his ability to shape-shift as it crushed the lower spine of his tail while still in bipedal form. Request: Retcon. Although I'd normally want to keep his injury, it doesn't seem like this will affect him in any way that could make a situation more interesting to me or another party, especially since he had no effect whatsoever on anyone or anything during that event other than the injury.
Reval'quess Draltar https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/revalquess-draltar.42379/ Loss of arm. Complete retcon, though I may play around with burns or scars.
Rodderick Coen https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/rodderick-aethelwulf-coen.44411/ Rodderick lost his left leg below the knee. Lesser maim. Personally I find it almost too difficult to drive a narrative with this character anymore with the injury he endured, though I don't want to get off scott free.
Freya Heinrich Char App Freya Heinrich had an arrow hit an unfortunate spot on her right shoulder, paralyzing her arm from the nerves being cut. Retcon. Her arm was still badly wounded and the arrow hit, yet didn't served the nerves as a whole, as such the wound was able to hearl normally.
Eoghan Friseal https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/eoghan-friseal.46045/ Lost his arm in the Dulofall Cure Campaign. Full retcon.
Veridan Daevaar https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/veridan-daevaar.36708/ Loss of entire right arm due to being shot by a cannon. Retcon completely. Though I might add something less severe at another time.
Character name that was affected. Kaja Santorski. Link to Character Application. Here. Short description of what happened to your character maim or kill wise. Accidental gunpowder explosion. Caused: Loss of the right ear. Loss of the right hand. Severe scarring on the right portion of the head. Scarring on the right side of the body due to debris getting lodged from the explosion. State what you would like to happen to said situation /void/lesser maim/ etc. I very much appreciate the concept of a non-pretty-noble-woman. I think it overall sets the character apart from most others in that regard, however, I find it hard to do much with the character when it comes to her archery side. Even her writing side. I would only want a lesser maim, quite frankly because I don't want to chicken out from the development the rolls gave entirely, but I do want to figure out something story wise for the character. Maybe she loses a few fingers on the right hand? I'd love to brainstorm with you as well. @MonMarty
Quick addenum: The Battle for Rothburg's maiming and killing is also included! A small oversight on my part.
Character Name: Zaos Heiwynn. Link to Application: Here. Short description of what happened to your character maim or kill wise: Stabbed in the leg by a spearman during the Lo Crisis during the attack on the city wall. His right leg was stabbed and he was forced into a permanent limp. State what you would like to happen to said situation /void/lesser maim/ etc: Lesser Maim. Still stabbed in the leg and forced to deal with a leg injury that crippled the character into a limp for several months after being stabbed. Character forced to undergo an IC rehabilitation process to get use to functioning properly without a walking aid. Large scar on his leg from the stab wound after having it heal.
this qualifies as a complete retcon, but fine, you don't need our approval for that. Extreme panic attacks when exposed to loud sounds or bangs loss of softer tissues on the ear, but not complete removal. severe scarring on the right portion of the head. Severe scarring all along the right arm and thigh but no dismemberment. Severe fear of swords held near his face. Considerable facial scarring. severe scarring on the right leg. limp in walking pace for at least a year.
Merril Audhild https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/merril-audhild.44390/ Lose of part/all of one leg, not sure due to slight vagueness of detail Full Retcon
