    Basic Information
    • Irano 'Jackie' Stous is a 31 year old male Ailor human.
    • Jackie Stous was born in Regalia on October 22nd to a young, teenage mother who had no spouse or companion. She worked as a servant in a noble's estate, and was given little slack when she was pregnant, and little slack in early motherhood, which resulted in his mother treating him very harshly in his childhood, and never having any more children.
      • Irene Stous, mother, deceased. Found dead in Regalia, presumed to be murdered.
      • Garad Stous, father, alive, age 66. Garad is a wealthy merchant in Regalia who was with Irene for one night before leaving her. Irano doesn't know the whereabouts of Garad, only that he is a merchant, and living in Regalia.
    • Jackie Stous, who goes by simply Stous to acquaintances, is currently staying in an inn in Regalia until he finds more permanent residence. Though he was born in Regalia, he left for the majority of his life, earning fortune as a doctor and herbalist in regions in which these jobs were desperately needed and prized. He left Regalia a bottomfeeder on society, the son of a husbandless servant girl, and has return as a wealthy and vengeful man.
    • Stous cares about little else, save his one driving cause: Stous craves the moment in which he can meet his father, who cursed his mother and himself when he left them, and doomed Irano to a horrid childhood, and bury a fleam into his chest.
    Visual Information
    Body Description

    • At 6''2', Irano Stous is a very tall man, and weighs 167 lbs. Stous has an athletic build, though his muscles are not very defined anywhere save his arms, which are strong and deft.
    • Stous has very pale skin and nearly permanent baggy eyes, an indication of decades of restless sleep, undernourishment in early life, and constant stress and unease. Stous's face is lined with wrinkles, though they often seem to blend in with Stous's facial features, giving him a trait described by others as "ghostly youth".
    • Stous keeps a cleanly shaven face, never sporting so much as a light stubble.
    Head Description
    • Stous has many elaborated facial features, such as a very defined jawline with a pointy chin, and pronounced cheekbones. Stous has large oval-shaped eyes and thin eyebrows.
    • Stous has dark brown eyes that often appear black in darkness or night. Stous often carries himself in a very emotionless manner, though many who have met with Stous say the one place he cannot hide his expression is his eyes, which will burrow into someone with great intensity. One of Stous's most uncomfortable traits is that he will maintain eye contact for an entire counter, not diverting for even a second. Many people think this is meant to intimidate the people he is around, but Stous is hardly aware that he does this.
    • Stous has a medium length hair that is smooth, and brushed out of his face. His hair is a pepper-salt mix of black and grey, and a little bit of white.
    • Stous is somewhat hard of hearing thanks to a blow to the ear from a cruel noble when he was a boy, and will occasional mishear a phrase during conversation.
    Clothing and Accessories
    • Stous is known to be a rather un-hygienic, and while he washes his face and hair meticulously, he does not often bathe the rest of his body, and puts on the same long black coat that falls to his knees over the same black cloth shirt and dark brown trousers, and black boots. The outfit is overall very plain, and Stous cares very little about one outfit over the next. He dresses for utility, and this outfit does not restrain his movement, and does not attract attention in a crowd.
    • The only things Stous consistently carry with him are his fleam set, a collection of attached knives used for bloodletting in a venesection, and a letter from his father to his mother.
    Behavior Information
    Personality Traits

    • Indifferent: Emotion is but a toy for the youths and romantics to play with, Stous believes. A harsh upbringing and lack of many intimate connections with other people has made Stous quite indifferent to human emotions and troubles. Instead, he focuses on goals, and maintains a cause and effect mentality.
    • Devoted: This trait seemingly contradicts Stous's 'indifference', and in fact to an extent, it does. Stous, while he is quite disconnected from human emotion and nature, he has a loving connection to his craft as a herbalist and physician, almost to the extent of a romantic relationship, in his eyes. Furthermore, Stous's is 'in love' with the idea of reuniting with and ending his father.
    • Manipulative: Stous has a small few individuals who are close to him, and these few are, inexplicable to Stous, caring of him, and loyal friends. Stous rarely sees his 'friends' with as much affection as they do to him, only interacting and associating with them when he believes it can be beneficial to him and his cause.
    • Demented: Stous has killed more than one person in cold blood, and though he would never consciously admit it, it has begun to affect him. Sometimes he sees one of the people he killed in the corner of his eye, and sometimes he will wake in the middle of the night, terrified and sweating, with no recollection of having a nightmare.
    • Paranoid: Stous is constantly fearful, constantly worried that this next day will be his final, the day the guards drag him to the execution block. Beyond rational fears, Stous is always wary of new acquaintances, and watches to see if they have a vendetta against him.
    • 'Honorable': The bottom feeders of Regalia have been wronged. The filthy merchants, nobles, officials, they have all spat in the faces of servants and beggars their whole lives, and their children will do the same. Stous believes his 'business' is justifiable, and he believes that when a man steps into his shop for a herbal concoction or a physician's appointment, he will provide a verdict. If the man/woman is pure and good, they will receive health, and at a decent cost as well. If they are filth from the cruel and wealthy upper class, they will receive death as they lie on Stous's examination table. That being said, there have been times when Stous lets one who he judges to be 'filth' escape his room, simply because for every one he slays, the chance of him being discovered rises exponentially.
    • Introverted: Stous prefers to listen rather than be listened to. He would rather gather information than spill information, and rarely speaks for long, as he fears inadvertently giving a hint to the reality of his business.
    • Mocking: Whenever an individual, close or a stranger, makes a mistake, does something foolish, or anything that is otherwise mockable, Jackie will be there. When he is in a good mood he will insult them in a slightly humorous manner, if he is in a bad mood he will simply insult them.
    Likes
    • Food and Drink: Despite being the grim and generally unhappy man he is, Stous is still one for old fashioned relaxation. He enjoys meandering through various pubs and inns, staying a while for a few drinks, often making the other patrons of the inn very uncomfortable with his demeanor.
    • Honesty: Stous prizes honesty, and being able to trust a man is more important to him than any other virtue. Stous likes to think he has a 6th sense for lies, but in reality his paranoia causes him to assume many things are lies.
    • Medicine and Herbalism: Stous has a love for his occupation as a physician and a herbalist, and loves the practices of medicine, health, and any related matters. This love was originally sourced from his early years, in which he wished to help those who could not help themselves. More recently Stous has loved his craft for different reasons: It is his means of enacting his own personal vengeance and justice.
    • Passion: Stous appreciates a man or woman who has found a suitable purpose in life, and relishes each opportunity to chase that purpose. Stous despises those in the world he considers to be sheep that perform whatever tasks they need to pay for shelter and food.
    • Youths: It seemingly contradicts all of Stous's other personality traits, but he has a soft spot for youths, ranging from young children to adults in their early twenties. Many youths do not yet know the struggles and strife of the real world, and while he pities their ignorance, he also respects it.
    Dislikes

    • Merchants and Nobles: The upper class of Regalia are scum in Stous's eyes. They deceive the masses with fake personas, but are cruel and merciless to the lower class. Stous has a personal vendetta against merchants, primarily because of his wealthy father, who abandoned his family and left them to starve and suffer.
    • Joy: Stous has seen cruelty, greed, and all manner of behavioral horror in his days. He cannot stand those who seem to somehow ignore this truth and maintain what seems to him to be a false aura of pleasantness and happiness.
    • Optimism: Similar to his dislike of pleasantry and joy, he despises people who desperately strive to see in the good where there is none to be found. Regalia, and all around it, in Stous's opinion, has little to be optimistic about.
    • Mercy: While Stous will fight and work to keep himself secret and has no death wish, should he be captured, he will, almost gladly accept the justice to be enacted upon himself. Stous believes that human emotion should never be put in front of proper justice.
    • Middle Names: 'Jackie' Stous really only dislikes one middle name in particular: his own. Growing up many of the other young troublemakers called him Jackie rather than Jack, and he hated it. Regardless, it seems to always come up as his nickname wherever he goes. This is a large part of the reason that Stous began to go by his last name.
    Abilities and Disabilities
    Strengths

    • Talented Physician: Health, herbalism, and medicine is Stous's life, his purpose. He has a different view of the craft however. Within his abilities Stous believes he has the powers of life and death. He can heal a man, brew a concoction of herbs to heal his illness, analyze his body to discover an ailment. On the contrast, he can poison a man; he can burrow a fleam into his stomach. Stous is talented, no doubt, however this mentality has caused a dark mindset, one of vengeance and hatred.
    • Strong Upper Body: Stous requires a great physical accuracy in his craft. In addition to daily exercise, the brute labor of transporting herbal supplies has slowly given him strength in his arms and chest. Although he has no formal combat training, this strength on occasion helps him if he needs to restrain a patient that does not like the judgement that Stous has given him, or if he is apprehended by a suspicious individual in Regalia.
    • Diverting Attention: Attention Seeking and Murder do not go well with each other. Stous has learned to keep himself out of the spotlight, and can blend in with a crowd, remain unnoticed in a heavily populated room, and knows how to draw attention to someone else in conversation. Furthermore, he always makes sure one of his companions are within sight, if a distraction needs to be created.
    • Flattery: Many lesser minded folk forget suspicion and caution when their cheeks glow red, and Stous has learned this. Stous can subtly insert charming comments and compliments within a conversation, to soften his opponent's scrutiny upon the situation at hand.
    Weaknesses

    • Social Interaction: Stous is a quiet and subtle man, preferring to lurk in the background than be at the forefront of a conversation. If he is confronted directly, he will often speak in slightly incoherent sentences, before his voice catches up with his mind and he forms his thoughts into words. This is mainly as a result of his almost instinctual behavior to stay out of scrutiny, and as always, he is paranoid about getting discovered.
    • Hard of Hearing: When he was a boy, an arrogant noble struck him hard with a metal cane to the left side of his head, and he collapsed to the ground unconscious. When he awoke in the streets, he was dazed and nauseous, and was having trouble distinguishing the sounds around him. If there is only one person speaking, he can easily comprehend it, but when multiple people speak or there are multiple sounds, they all blend together and Stous has a difficult time separating them, at the very least with his left ear.
    • Fanaticism: What Stous calls passion and purpose, is in reality a dark, twisted, fanaticism. He believes himself to have devoted the remainder of his life to seeking his own personal justice in the city of Regalia. He worships his goals as if they were gods, and his fleam and herbs were tools of prayer. While his murderous intentions are clearly a result of his horrid upbringing and treatment, that resulted in dementia and a craving for vengeance, this fanaticism is likely a result of his need to find purpose in life, as he has connected his occupation and talents to more than a means of making money, but as his purpose and his meaning in life.
    • Moody: Stous is a grumpy person, often annoyed by those around him. He does not make an attempt to hide or project this grumpiness, and will make small talk in return if it is initiated. Usually, he will come off as either bland or shy.
    • Hypocritical: Stous maintains a firm belief in justice and honesty, albeit his own version of such traits. However he will often lie and deceive those he believes to be unjust, and he will often allow those he believes to be unjust to escape in order to lower suspicion .
    • Pessimistic: Stous has a very grim outlook on life, the world, and Regalia in particular. He assumes the worst out of everything and everyone, and is surprised, and on occasion even angry, when something or someone is proven to be better than he expected.
    • Poor in Combat: Stous has spent most of his life performing the tasks of a surgeon or a doctor, and has never actively trained in any form of combat. While his reflexes them self are not poor (They aren't great, either), his lack of any real training makes him somewhat helpless when fighting.

    Combat Styles

Stous rarely fights, though he kills somewhat frequently. On occasion a particularly unlikely soul will enter his establishment, and if Stous finds the man, in his initial judgement, to be cruel, greedy, or even show hints of wealthiness, he will utilize his fleam to make a cut somewhat more deeply than normal, or give the patient a concoction that may have a couple extra ingredients, such as naga venom.

The rarities in life always find ways of occurring, however, and Stous has found himself in combat before. In these cases he utilizes his fleam, which is larger than a normal set, as well as sharpened beyond the point of most physicians tools. He swings wildly and clumsily, putting more force behind the strikes with the dagger-like tool than he perhaps should.

    Weapons of Choice
Stous would rarely enter combat with anything other than his fleam. He does not own any other weapons.

    Relationships

    Throgdar Loghnakh (@Clockworker )-
Though Irano Stous views this brute of an orc to be an expendable bodyguard, Throgdar has unwavering loyalty to Stous. Ever since Stous saved Throgdar from what he believed to be a life threatening illness, the orc has pledged himself in Stous's command. Having no particular prejudices against Orcs, Stous accepted the Orc as a companion, and the two have traveled together to Regalia

    Miles Dalien (@_IronMatriX_ )
Stous has only recently arrived in the city of Mithril, and has begun to set up a physicians institution near the harbors. Miles Dalien was quite friendly to Stous, showing him the city and assisting him with his house. Despite his best intentions to be cold and rude to Dalien, Jackie found himself holding the man in kind regard, and appreciating his company. Jackie has only had a few brief encounters with the man, but he looks forward to engaging in conversation with him more.

    Aok'atroth (@Uchiha_Child )
Jackie Stous came to know the strong Wulong known as Aok'atroth during times he sailed under Captain Tilmon, a sailor from Mithril. During these times Jackie was seperated from his Orcish partner, Throgdar, and Stous realized that Aok'atroth reminded him of Throgdar. This made Stous grow somewhat fond of the Wulong, despite continuously mocking him (unbeknownst to Aok'atroth.). Unlike Throgdar, however, Aok'atroth had a very defiant mood, unwilling to tolerate Stous's jests once he comprehended them. Stous respects Aok'atroth for this, and eagerly awaits the day that he can witness a brawl between Throgdar and Aok'atroth.

((Note: I have permission from the RPer of Throgdar to write him into my Life Story, he will view over everything I write before it is posted.))

    Life Story

"Careful, Master Stous, it's quite a step."

Irano Stous ignored the Orcs warning as he jumped from the deck of the boat down to the wooden dock. He gazed briefly at his companion, a large, muscular orc with unkempt black hair, before turning towards the city arch and taking a step forward.

    "Come, Throgdar."

As they proceeded down the street, Stous was flushed with memories, and though he felt a mixture of good and bad, the vast majority of these memories were ones he did not love dwelling on.

    * * *
Irano Stous was born to a young servant girl named Irene Stous. Irene served in a noble household full of many wealthy and powerful individuals who treated her quite poorly. Many times other nobles or merchants were guests on the estate, and would treat Irene just like her employers. There was one such merchant, whom, when he encountered Irene, treated her with kindness and greeted her with pleasant conversation. The two met one night and, after a series of encounters during that day, spent the night together in a nearby Inn.

When Irene awoke, she found that the merchant was gone, and left a note saying that he would not see her again, and that should she speak to her superiors, nobody would believe her that he had been with a woman of her status. The note was unsigned, however another noble speak to him, and call him 'Garad'.

6 months and 3 days after that night Irene bore Garad's son, and named him Irano. She gave Irano her last name, as she did not know Garad's last name, nor did she wish him to have it.

In Irano's first years, Irene treated him with the love any parent should give a child, working hard to raise him and earn the money to support him. As he grew though, Irene began to see Garad's face in the boy, and this unnerved her. Months after Irano's 4th birthday, Irene began heavily drinking at the local inns, and was no longer allowed inside one of them.

As Irano grew, his mother cared less and less for him, and he often spent many nights fending for himself, or begging on the streets. At the age of 9, whilst begging for a regal from a passing merchant, he was struck with a decorative metal cane. The blow connected with his left ear, and he stumbled to the side of the street, falling unconscious. When he awoke in the streets, he was dazed and nauseous, and could not distinguish the different sounds he heard throughout the city. He quickly came to terms with the fact that he could no longer hear correctly through his left ear, and began using this as a pity tactic in his begging. He was no more successful than before, and he began to learn the selfishness of the greedy nobles and merchants.

At the age of 11 Irano began killing small animals such as rodents and frogs in the sewers of Regalia, and small fish swimming in the canals. He began to dissect and analyze their bodies, fascinated to discover what it was that caused these creatures to have life. Irano became fixated upon the line between life and death, and though he did not yet realize it at the time, he had taken the first steps towards his life purpose of perfecting that line.

At the age of 14 Irano joined a group of teenage orphans and ruffians in Regalia, committing petty thievery and other small crimes. It had been almost a week since he had been to the noble estate, and he wondered if any of noble family, let alone his mother, even noticed he was gone.

His life between the ages of 15 and 17 were rather uneventful, save the fact that Irano progressively become more interested in health and sickness, and carried more and more hatred towards the upper class. It was not until a few days after his 18th birthday that he learned what had happened to his mother months ago. The noble family had decided to dismiss Irene and her services, and in desperation Irene blurted something she had long kept secret: She was a lover of the merchant Garad, a patron and friend of the family. The nobles called this blasphemous, and cast her away.

A week later her body was discovered in an alley of Regalia. The nobles dismissed this as murder within the miserable and crazed people of the poor district, but Irano didn't believe it could be anyone other than his father, punishing her for telling the truth about that night. Now an adult and free to do as he wished, Irano realized there was nothing for him in Regalia, and left to pursue his fascination with medicine and health, but made a personal promise to return, and make sure his father received justice.

Irano spent several years in Daendroc, learning primal healing methods through herbal remedies from Orcish Tribes, as well as more advanced medicine and practices from the more advanced cities of Elves. Throughout his late twenties, Irano had reached the point in which he was a somewhat respected healer and physician throughout the community of elves he had immersed himself with. They treated Irano well enough, despite being a stranger in their lands, and they seemed to understand that Irano, despite being a human, bore little connection to the people of Regalia, the longtime rivals of the Elvish Kingdom. He made a small fortune in gold through using his new found skills to treat many sick individuals of a myriad of races. Shortly after his 30th birthday, however, news of the Regalian Warships arriving at Daendroc reached Irano's ears. He valued the kindness he had seen in some of the elves he had known, but he had no desire to live through a war, so he fled Daendroc, and wandered other places. He spent a few months in a city known as Mithril before finally returning Regalia, albeit with an Orcish companion.

It was a rather interesting story, how he had managed to 'acquire' Throgdar. Orcs were a simple, and often primitive race, Irano had come to realize, and some did not fully comprehend illness, and the gravity of any particular one. Throgdar had come to Irano with a cold, proclaiming that his life was at an end. Throgdar assured Irano that he did not fear death, but wished an honorable end, and this was not it. Irano didn't believe a light cold would be any threat to one as strong and stout as Throgdar, but Irano obliged. Orcs are an honorable folk, Irano found, and when an Orc owes their life to you, they will make sure it is shown. Throgdar pledged to follow Irano in his journeys, and make an effort to repay such a deed. Irano resolved that there were worse things than acquiring an Orcish Bodyguard, so he allowed the Orc to travel with him.

    * * *
As Stous and Throgdar proceeded down the street, Stous pointed out a building to Throgdar.

"There, that inn. We will stay there for the night. I have enough money to set up shop, though I heard property is hard to come by these days. Oh, and be careful, Throgdar. Though I would imagine such a thing impossible, the power in this city is even less forgiving to your kind then they were to people like me."

Throgdar nodded, and responded monotonously, "I cannot carry weapons, I cannot start fights.", as if it were something that Stous had repeated to Throgdar over and over again, and through rehearsal Throgdar had memorized it.

As they walked through the door and into the crowded inn full of noisy folk, Stous stopped and smiled. He fingered the fleam in his right pocket, as if he were begging for it to come out and play.

Throgdar turned to Stous. "What now?"

Stous flashed a joyless smile to Throgdar. "Now, my green skinned companion, is the time in which the pitiful wretches of this city, those who have known the gutter, those who have been spat on and tormented... Now is the time that they be avenged. Come now, perhaps the innkeeper knows where I might set up shop."

((Note: The present events that take place in my life story are written slightly in the future of the RP universe, Stous does not arrive in Regalia for approximately one month.))

    I am reviewing this character!

    • I like it! Your personality traits are awesome, and your sheer amount of weaknesses is pleasing; it shows you understand how to balance a character. I will only ask that you add "poor in combat" or somesuch as a physical weakness. Do that, and I will happily approve this character. Please tag me when you're done, very well written.

    Pending!

Awesome application, very detailed and you have elaborated in great depth, giving your character many different traits that I think will all be valuable in role-play. I was also kind of giddy when I saw that you included Aok'atroth haha
