While the family does not own this city, they are responsible for a large part of its creation, primarily through funding building efforts and purchasing lots of land in the city’s limits. As the city grew, so did the wealth and reach of the Kialoraals. Some of the particularly wealthy and ambitious relatives branched out, purchasing land even outside of Sún’dia to manage. Meanwhile, a handful of more Religion-minded Fin’ullen buckled down and worked on establishing churches and embedding themselves within existing ones, swaying Sún’dia into a city of primarily Estelley faith, with a particular adoration for the Deep Empress. More recent history of the family focuses on the sudden disappearance of the previous head of the family, Aehanoc, and his wife, Desheira, 139 years ago. Their sixteen-year-old child, now known as Anethor, was left behind the night both Aehanoc and Desheira vanished into thin air. A male Allar called Ebella took Anethor in to watch over him until his parents returned– they never did. The corpses of Aehanoc and Desheira were discovered a year later, robbed, preserved then abandoned. Their cause of death remains a mystery to this day. Ebella became Anethor’s official guardian within days of that discovery. For the next eight years, the Kialoraal family was a bit of a mess. Anethor technically became the head of the family at eighteen years old but the unexpectedness of the previous patriarch’s death and a tangle of family business kept Anethor from being declared such until he turned 25. It would have lasted longer had he not been granted gifts from the family’s favored deity, Vyrë, the Deep Empress. At 119 years old, Anethor went missing after leaving on a regular sailing trip. His family feared the worst, expecting to find out the head of the family had past, but they never quite passed along the title to another member of the family. This was for the best– in the year 312, Anethor re-established contact with his family after being in total hiding for fifteen years. He was welcomed back with open, relieved arms. During this trip, he learned that he had had an older brother– a man who left before Anethor was born to pursue a relationship with a Morrlond worshiper. Shockingly, he learned that the two had a child called Aoife– a new resident of Regalia Anethor had already befriended.
