Her build is moderately plump, more befitting of a studious occupation than athleticism. Life Story Engel was raised by a conservative family in the Genevaud Alps. Early on, she was taught her mother’s familial trade of tailoring, though her father was a servant for a nearby aristocratic family. As a teenager, a marriage was coordinated between her and an upper class Leutz-Vixe man. Frequent visits to Osteiermark followed, and her access to literature and educational material opened up. Taboo literature to the Wirtem - occult manuals and tomes- drew her interest. Her study in the supernatural is discovered by her parents, who promptly cut her off and leaves her stranded in Osteiermark, no longer with the support or interest of her previously arranged suitor. An older Cearden mage and scholar in the region encourages her pursuit of knowledge, and under him, she becomes his protégé. Engel’s mentor invites her to accompany him to Regalia for further studies, distancing herself further and further from her homeland, though retains some connection and support through siblings and extended family.
