est. 310 AC The Regalia Hospital and Medical Center is a Medical and Research Facility managed by four heads to provide the best available medical care that Regalia has to offer her people and work alongside the Regalian Metropolitan doubling as being a centralized force for Research and Development to push the medical field to greater limits via improved remedies, materials, and methods. While also ensuring that the independent clinics of the city are held to an acceptable standard of care. ~~~ The Regalia Hospital is organized in by divisions as well as distinctions. ~~~ Prior to entering an application, the criteria outlines points of consideration that may aid in success or highlight crucial exceptions. Note that applying even without meeting every piece of criteria is still possible and may be accepted after discussion and agreement. ⛊ Have medical experience and skills. It is expected that those within the medical team are able to heal, whether it be mundane or not. Additionally, they may also be able to cure vampirism and cahalism and/or break curses, possessions, and such.◾ Aspiring Medic. If the person applying has little to no medical experience and wishes to learn in the hospital, they can still apply, but must state this intention. Upon acceptance, they will be issued either a Senior Medic or a Hospital Chair to begin their training. ◾ Applicants do not need to have formal education in medical studies. ◾ Having formal schooling is good and factors in a better trust of the individual’s expertise. ◾ Managing/Working in a Clinic in within Regalia also adds to mastery.◽ The name of the clinic must be given and there needs to be people who can vouch for work in said clinic for it to apply for degree of mastery.◾ It is encouraged that medics learn from their colleagues.◽ Medics can find other medics to mentor them on their own agreement or seek out either the Senior Medics or Hospital Chairs to aid in the process of mentorship. ⛊ Reasoning. Joining the Hospital can have reasons ranging from person to person, but it is recommended for those who enter to have a purpose or intent for joining. It can be as simple as needing work to wishing to be of service and aid others. ⛊ Clean or Atoned Record. The Hospital Chairs review the past of applicants. Based on evaluation, an applicant can be denied or accepted based on the previous actions committed along with the subsequent resolutions.~~~ Healing and assuring relief are the main duties of a medic, yet in a more technical sense, there are different jobs and tasks that are also important to the operation of the hospital. ⛊ Answering Medic Calls. All medics within the hospital receive information on when a patient is in need of assistance. This extends to wherever they are in the city and they are encouraged to answer if they can. ⛊ Managing the Hospital. Similar to other clinics in the city, the hospital can be managed actively with medics ready within the building to receive patients, give and renew alchemy prescriptions, keeping the facilities clean, and ensure that patient records are up-to-date. ⛊ Accompanying Curing. While not in the toolset of all medics, it is encouraged for those who can cure to assist the State Metropolitan in curing runs. Furthermore, an additional medic or two may accompany in case of attack and injury during the curing. ⛊ Breaking Curses. Though not in all skill sets, medics who can break curses and exorcise are encouraged to utilize their knowledge and abilities when necessary as, when left untreated, curses and possessions can hurt the patient and those around them. ~~~ Medics will be expected to abide by rules dictated below. Breaking any of these does not mean immediate punishment or expulsion unless stated so or decided upon by the Chairs based on situation. This list also includes other notable points. ⛊ Prioritize patient care. As appreciated as it is to aid the constables and officers with the actual combat, remember that a patient's care is paramount. Certain situations will force one into combative or defensive measures. ⛊ If possible, do not forcibly treat a patient by a method they do not prefer.◾ Vampires and Cahal are never exempt from curing. ◾ If the injuries sustained by the patient are life-threatening and they are unconscious and/or there is no other medic available, the rules can be circumvented in order to save their life. Medics need a level of self-preservation. As attractive as the prospect to fight is to some, one must remember that in order to heal and sustain others, they must not be rendered incapacitated. ⛊ On Constable-Medic Status. Medics are allowed and even encouraged, should they have the time and ability for it, to join the State Metropolitan Constabulary. Service as a constable and medic is feasible. ⛊ Uniform Policy. All medics must wear their uniforms when working with State Metropolitan business.◾ If a medic is also a constable, they must wear the constable uniform instead. ⛊ On Non-Government Clinic Work and Management. Medics are allowed to serve in multiple facilities. Working in other clinics other than the State Metropolitan is considered a personal venture out of the scope of the organization.
