Rumor has it that, while overseeing some of the workers, Alderwoman da Cana went into labor and was rushed into one of the many barracks to give birth to the first son of Don Fidu da Cana. ⥓ Back at the da Cana plantation Bartolomeo is raised as any other upper-class son would be. He is tutored in mathematics, swordsmanship, and other essentials such as leadership, bartering, and public speaking. All looked bright for the young Bartolomeo, and with grand expectations, he was sent to Regalia to pursue a further education and delve into knighthood. However, it was not a secret that Bartolomeo sported his mother's short temper. He was brash, and easily grew frustrated upon failure. In the midst of his training as a knight, this grew to be his downfall. Not a month after his enrollment, Bartolomeo was dishonorably discharged from his knightly order, deemed too much of a hothead to carry out the duties of a proper knight. ⥓ For much of his young-adult life, Bartolomeo remained within the da Cana plantations and Lusits, finishing his studies under his father's tutelage. In truth, the fact that he no longer had to become a Knight meant he had a lot more liberty to tend to the plantation and become its successor. Albeit, the more Bartolomeo worked, practiced, and trained, the more he seemed to disappoint his father. It seemed none of the child's accomplishments could ever fill the broken mold left by his expulsion from Regalia’s knightly orders. ⥓ Bartolomeo undergoes several life-changing experiences during his early 20’s, most importantly the death of his father and his immediate succession of the da Cana plantations. The transition is long and excruciating, but it was what Bartolomeo was born to do. ⥓ There came a grim time known to Aloria as the Bone Horror Crisis. When the hordes fell upon Lusits, consolidated the family's holdings went all in on the preservation of the plantations. By the time the crisis came to an end, Casa da Cana sat at a powerful position to begin annexing other, less fortunate plantations into their fold. The economic boom that resulted from this dynamic skyrocketed Casa da Cana into relevance beyond just Lustis, able now to sustain mass exports. From this vaccuum in power, Bartolomeo was able to integrate himself into the political fold of Lusits, utilizing his experience with international exchanges to earn himself the position of State Consul for the Kingdom. ⥓ Bartolomeo stepped away from plantation life in Lusits,taking off in search of business opportunities and knowledge elsewhere throughout his years. During this time, Bartolomeo also made regular ventures into Ithania for both business and other clandestine endeavors, becoming intertwined with the Hôterie culture therein. It is only now in the present, at the peak of an opportune moment, that a family decision was made to begin making a presence in Regalia, the very core of the Empire and the heart of imperial politics.
You cannot have both of these listed innately. If you want to keep one or the other you'll have to spend the required linguistics points, otherwise just pick whatever his parents would have taught him.
