    Personality

Chracter Alignment: Lawful Neutral - A Hardened Hunter

An unassuming hunter from the Order Darkwald who hopes to live a relatively peaceful life within the boundaries of Regalia. Fulgore is willing to take almost any measure to ensure it remains as such.

Character Personality Type: The Advocate - A Methodical Mercenary

Fulgore tends to conduct him with with an often mellow and approachable air. Whilst his ideals are strict, the man does not act with incredulous haste to pursue a potentially-immediate solution to any difficulties. He bides his time- and herein does his personality lean towards the border of a Logistician.

Fulgore usually aims to pass; and guide; smaller problems off to the younger generations of hunters to handle and duly gain experience. However, when he does engage with qualms directly, the man does so in a swift, efficient, and usually-brutal manner.

Religion: 10 / 10 Unionist - Unaffiliated With Any Sects Currently.

Ever since undertaking his personal studies in the faith, the man's faith has only strenghtened.

    Life Story

    Childhood - 282 AC to 292 AC

Fulgore Fänger was born in Opper Calemberg on the 1st of December, 263 AC to a relatively unimportant lineage. His father and mother were both rank-and-file New Regalian, Darkwald Knights that were stationed in a village in the midst of the Opperwald Forest. Naturally, when his parents were recalled to the Tirgunn, he followed suit. Though it was only by chance; and from a few local children daring him; that he went to Castle Virgadulvas at the age of seven on a moonless night.

Attaining the position of page took its course, as did the ascension to squireship after seven years.

    Adolescence - 292 AC to 302 AC

Fulgore was a squire assigned to one Julius Blackmoore. It was Julius who first taught him how to wield a light bow, and under the knight’s wing, he proved to be a natural prodigy in the art of ranged combat. The then child took to hunting alongside his superior smoothly- perhaps a tinge too much as he was developing an ego of sorts. Praise from other knights and the affirmation of his own parents kept his nose pointed high as he matured throughout the years following.
Adulthood - 302 AC and onward

Fulgore was officially became a man-at-arms when he turned 20 years of age. By then, his proficiency at the crossbow had then surpassed his mentor’s.

He took every request he saw. Neither day, nor night was spent without being on the move. When Fulgore was not resting, he was hunting. After all, all he knew how to do was hunt. As a result of his efforts and extreme display of skill, the hunter was assigned to the 77th Regiment- only two years after becoming a knight.

His long patrol continued until AC 309 when he reached his home village in Opper Calemberg. There, a sanguine conspiracy was discovered. A group of travelling Milôt vampires had adopted the guise of clergymen were handing out infected food and drink to the local populace during a famine.

Such was suspected when one of his men ingested infected food and became incredibly ill for a few days into their stay. Such was found when three of his men had turned while in captivity.

No Sacrosankts were available for curing. The regiment lacked enough Holy Water to properly test every person in the village and keep their men safe at the same time. Out of the few that they captured and subsequently tested, about half of them were turned. The cruel irony of the situation lay in how the Milôt’s set of abilities made them difficult to differentiate from ordinary people even by experienced hunters.

Fulgore saw to it that the citizens were rounded up and put to the pyre- men, women, children and all.

Although congratulated for his fervour, the hunter fell into a deep melancholy for those that were lost. He plunged himself fully into his Unionist studies. Though upon realising that he had to make a choice between becoming a preacher or a hunter for his faith, Fulgore Fänger chose the latter. The man then panned his sights to Regalia. He has arrived at the Holy City to aid the church however he can in its efforts to rebuild the cathedral and maintain the faith.
In Character Happenings - 309 AC and onward
After a lifetime of turmoil, the hunter found himself spiralling further into depression. The conflict raised and engaged in with the unholy, the unclean, and the ridiculous alike left the hunter wanting. Naught but silence came from his Order while he resided in Regalia, and while he engaged in the duties sown by his oath, the man eventually became tired. Nonplussed. Calloused.

When not stalking the streets of Crookback, time was taken to tend to the Cathedral grounds. Half of his days thus far were spent sweeping the square, conversing with other Unionists, and tending to the grounds. The other half were spent hunting - pursuing the sanguine, investigating the sewers, and ensuring the safety of Regalia’s citizens.

After one of a festivals celebrating the tenets of Unionism was when he met the Lord Curate, Roul Cadieux. Then and there, the young Curate’s naive, yet ambitious nature endeared him to the hunter - for within the noble, Fulgore saw a devout servant of their faith and potential yet unleashed. The Lord Curate offered him a position as valet-in-training, having seen his exemplary behaviour and resolve as a man-at-arms.

    He accepted.

Not two days later, the then-knight’s job was made official. By day, he would accompany the Lord Curate - correcting the adolescent’s attitude and ensuring such met up mostly with Purist Unionist standards. By night, he hunted - as was his duty as a Darkwald Knight. In spite of the heathens combatted alone, in spite of the troubles endured, in spite of the long hours and little rest, Fulgore assured himself that all of it was worth the effort. It was his service under the Spirit’s purview, after all.

The cinder of hope he aided in kindling made such strenuous activities barely-tolerable.

Ultimately, the valet was promoted to a steward from his excellent work. A position was granted to service the House Cadieux, and in turn, broaden the horizons of his tutorship. Yet on the very same day he was elevated, a directive arrived which commanded him to ceased such service.

No inquiry into his work. No questions asked to him personally. No mention of his pains.

Tired of being treated akin to the lowest form of subhuman trash by the Order he served for the past twenty years, the prodigy steeled himself to leave their service. He had no companion under their banner residing within Regalia. He heard no news of Darkwalds performing the same duties he had. He had been accused of violating the code - which explicitly lacks any statement concerning service as a valet.

He was furious that the directive focused more upon the Order’s dislike for the House Cadieux instead of arguably the most important reason that they could have informed him of in a single, simple clause -

‘-one who employs the use of Mages into their service.'

Instead, the High Steward focused upon his dislike of the House. Instead, they chose to act dismissive of his position.

Not a single one of his feats were mentioned. Not the time he aided in the arrest of a Sanguine and sent such to Greygate. Not the time he escorted the young Lady Isabelle Cadieux to the arms of her family. Not the nights upon days upon nights upon days patrolling the streets and roofs of New Crookback for any signs of aberrants preying upon the common folk.

Fulgore had enough. If he was to be treated like trash, he would have appreciated being acknowledged as such; with a few gems laying beneath the filth; instead of ignored outright.

He declared his resignation from the order. They clearly did not need his work.
