One of the most important values of any Janssen is to always stick to honest, whether with themselves or others, and avoid lying at all costs. Charity: Being kind means nothing if you do not offer a helping hand and it is a belief that all people should be helped, regardless of who they are. If someone has the means of assisting them, then they should. It is never surprising to find a Janssen assisting in Alms or offering handouts. Education: To know is to be in control and thus an individual must be educated in order to survive in this world. Most Janssens hold their education as one of their highest merits, using it both to benefit themselves in Regalia, as well as to teach others around them. It goes without saying that they are one of the first supporters of education for fellow commoners of their class. Self-Confidence: One cannot get far if they don't believe in themself and so it is detrimental that confidence is key. Most Janssens are level-headed enough to realize when they aren't as suited for a situation, but more often than not individuals of this family have the strong-will to at least try. The family lived in a minor village located within northern Nordskag, popularized only because of it being a key to the fishing industry there. Taking up after the career of their surroundings, the trio formalized their own fishing company and fought against the competition that was high there. From this marriage, there were four children that came to be: Sighelm, Dagfinn, Magnhild, and Yri. The second generation was raised within their home of Nordskag and were taught the ways of their parents' craft so that they could take up after them. Following the passing of their mothers, Sighelm took up the reigns of the family company and Armod took off to travel the world in his later years. Introduced to economics, Sighelm briefly left Nordskag to do his own traveling through various ports south of his homeland. In this, he met with an Ithanian woman by the name of Camilla Blanchett, who he soon married and brought home with him. Returning to the north, he continued to support the Janssen fishing company, while his wife created her own small business dealing with alchemy and nursing. Falling into recent years, the title of matriarch has passed onto the Sighelm and Camilla's now adult daughter, Lily Janssen. Leaving Nordskag, she took up residence within Regalia and decided to begin her own company roots, leaning away from the fishing history of her kin to focus on the craft of her mother: medicine. ════════════ FAMILY Lily Janssen | SleepyIsVerySlep The twenty-seven year old matriarch of the commoner House Janssen exists as a well-known member of Regalian society.
