When Noki’s happy, she’ll laugh louder, hum happily, and give physical affection if allowed. She's generally a happy-go-lucky Mai, but it's easy to tell when her glee reaches a peak- she'll actually tell you how she's feeling instead of just showing it. How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? Noki tries to face her fears head-on, and through standing her ground. When push comes to shove, however, she’d rather run then risk her life in a scary situation. Truly frightening experiences, like the one she faced while drowning, cause her to go into herself and become less passionate. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? Noki puts on a smile and keeps a positive attitude- though extreme stress may cause her to break into a tantrum. Such tantrums involve her screaming and stomping her feet, and eventually fleeing into the water to subsequent embarrassment. How does your character view Law and Authorities? It’s good to follow the law because it’s polite, and she doesn’t feel the need to go and outwardly anger authorities. However, Noki doesn’t believe any one person is superior to her based on their title. She respects the Law and Authorities more out of preservation, but if angered, she's willing to call out a code she feels is arbitrary. Namely, the Uz-Cazz. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? Noki holds no race above or below her own, mostly due to that fact that they’re all equally strange to her. Her time in the Altalar States made her wary of Teledden, however- she's heard things spoken in their tongue about her that she wish she never did. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? Religion plays an important part in Noki’s life. The existence of Morrlond has helped her rationalize her near-death experience at sea, and Tal’Sieth helps her feel calmer about her existence in the ocean so long as she worships them both. She strictly follows Tal'Sieths code and makes daily sacrifices to Morrlond. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? The arcane provides constant surprises for the mutated Mai-Allar. There’s little magic to speak of in the depths of the sea. Living with Altalar taught her to get used to magic, which she mostly regards with curiosity and wonder. A small part of her wishes she could learn magic, but alas- she doesn't have the genetics for it. How does your character feel towards their family? Noki cares about her family, but has long since separated with them out of no will of her own. She hopes that she’ll be able to find them again, but the ocean is a wide, wide place. They occupy her thoughts on a daily places, and she keeps their memories alive through hunts and song. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? Noki’s incredibly proud of her singing voice, and will go out of her way to show it off to other people. That often involves finding somewhere to sit nearby a busy street and performing her melodies, even if she's given some odd looks for it. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? She simply wants to keep being happy. And the best way to be happy is to keep improving. Noki will hone her skills on a daily basis, often through singing in public to keep her skills in tact. She also believes that Tal'Sieth and Morrlond will protect her progress, so long as she keeps her piety. What is your character's biggest insecurity? Noki believes she may look too frightening due to her size and appearance. She compensates for this by being as friendly and accommodating as she can, but she's come to learn that people will turn away from her through looks alone- no matter what she tries. What is your character's biggest fear? Ironically, Noki fears drowning more than anything. While she still enjoys swimming, the idea of losing control over a domain that she’s mastered terrifies her- all due to a traumatic experience at sea. She's worked on her fear through gradual exposure back to her home and encouragement (and sometimes insult) from others. Still, the thought of drowning creeps into her mind at the worst of times, reminding her of a memories and scars that will never fade. Life Story (Required) Early life Noki was hatched within a pod of many other Mai. She lived an incredibly traditional life; she hunted, she sang, she wandered the sea. Life was simple enough, and the Mai-Allar had no complaints. The Chrysant war raged on in her early days, but she and her family wanted nothing to do with it. They travelled, occasionally communicating with passing ships, where Noki learned bits and pieces of broken Common. Late teens The capricious Mai enjoyed travelling with friends- but soon, she wanted to set off on her own. She promised to return to the pod in due time. That was a promise that was never meant to be kept. Noki dove deep into the ocean, ever curious what secrets it may hold. In return, she suffered an attack from a beast- one that struck like lightning and vanished into the depths below. The Mai-Allar sustained brutal wounds that left her stuck in the ocean sands, unable to surface until days later. A Fin’ullen ship took notice of a Mai-Allar clinging onto driftwood for dear life. Noki, out of energy and starving from her journey, would’ve died if not for this stroke of good fortune. She boarded the ship and communicated bits and pieces of the incident to the Altalar. They nursed her back to health, and in return, she fished and sang for the crew during their long journey back to Talant Ilha Faial. Adulthood Noki felt shy of the ocean for some time after her incident. Therefore, she stayed within Talant Ilha Faial, specifically in the city of Manth- where the crew that rescued her resided. She could no longer sustain herself through fishing alone. The Mai-Allar had a natural talent with spears, so she took herself to task and became a gladiator. When her wounds began to ache too much for her to handle, she began to learn alchemy- which she happily used to aid her fellow fighters. And when she didn’t fight, Noki sang and danced for other’s entertainment. Singing wasn't enough to keep the Mai entertained for very long. Noki sought education in the Gods that saved her. She attended clerical school in Manth, studying worship of Tal'Sieth in particular, though still paying some mind to other Gods in the pantheon- namely the hidden god, Morrlond. The time came for her to face her fears- but before she could, she had to know her enemy. Noki talked to the city-dwelling Altalar, and a priest claimed she’d been attacked by a Daphalar- one of Morrlond’s vile creations. Whether that’s the truth of the matter is a mystery, but the Mai-Allar took it to heart. She made sacrifices to the Abyss Watcher to appease him, and followed Tal’Sieth’s code as to not invoke either sea god’s wrath. Recent Events Time passed. Noki grew braver, and regained her fondness towards her old home. Her Gods would protect her, and she sought to prove it through a journey towards the Holy City- Regalia. Whatever it may hold, she felt ready to face it, a trident in hand and a song in her heart.
Things look good, I would suggest adding a few lines to the personality section. One or two extra sentences to better flesh things out would be fine. @dimetros Mark changes made in green and tag me when you're all set!
@Ded Jok hey there! updated noki's app to fit with the current prof rework. i toned down her spear combat because she's been too peaceful to have almost master-level spearmenship skills. i also gave her volacurum, education in clerical stuff, and sailing art. edited her bodystat, too. everything's marked in blue!

Hi! Before we're ready to approve, there are just a few things that need some adjusting. @dimetros First, just a quick & small fix: change "talent" to "hobby". Mai-Allar can speak to each other underwater (which is what I assume you meant by Sonar), but it's a form of communication - like a modification of Zasta - which isn't meant to be listed as a whole other language. Lastly, please clarify that you've invested points into both Volacorum & Cleric Schooling in your proficiency list. Make the requested edits in blue & tag me once done. Thanks!

@dimetros Thanks, just one last thing! Seems like you did actually invest into Hobby, but accidentally marked it as Talent (which doesn't give free points). I'd just suggest switching out the word "talent" there for "hobby" in your Vocal Singing proficiency, & then removing the piece about supposedly having no investments in Hobby Tag me once done & we can move onto approval. :)
