Though born and sent back to a Haat-Maraya colony and household at the end of his work hours, this was his life. A servant child rushing between dreadful men and women in waiting and anticipating their wants and needs; this occupied his time in most instances. Dutiful and obedient, Vyldir cherished their thanks and shriveled at their temperaments. Early on, the child exhibits a certain pitch-perfect talent which these masters seek to nurture for the entertainment of their guests. And so, Vyldir is strictly and formally trained to this end. Despite the occasionally grueling lessons, he doesn't allow this to hinder his respect and enjoyment of the performing arts. Adolescence 13 - 20 Maleficent Entertainer | The talented boy's voice proved to be golden and unique, so for this his handlers found him valuable. Vyldir's servitude was more cushy than most; the young Haat-Maraya was afforded certain luxuries and privileges which made his life outside of it seem lackluster in comparison. However, certain restrictions maintained which made the truth of his situation unavoidable and unenviable. He valued the people and principals which made up the Kaahl he served, The Court of Mortal Delights, but sought to reach for further achievement and sophistication of his art than his position would afford him. Blood Opera | A good friend and part of the household hears Vyldir's frustration and takes it upon themselves to alert some higher directors of the Kaahl of it. Seemingly, this is a mistake which punishes the slave by taking his once safe occupation and shoves him into a dire caste - bloodsport entertainment. Vyldir would be damned to perform as a musical gladiator. Vexed and feeling betrayed but determined to thrive, he takes to training to be part of some manner of extreme blood opera. Young Adulthood 20 - 35 Wretched Liberty | Vyldir grows formidable yet plagued with a new insanity, becoming an eccentric vein of Abbagellon zealot. Through enough show of intense devotion and resilience over years, the now proven worthy man is granted his freedom through adoption into the Kaahl with Lady Illana as his Warlord. He's thrilled, yet now wrestles with a lethal urge and violent temperament justified through worship of an awful deity. Using his newfound resources, he devises magical means to take his musical ambition outside of the Dread Empire. Chained Monster | With a teacher, Vyldir becomes practiced enough with Sorcery to mold the world and himself to an extent. Feeling safe within the guise of Valleross the El-Maraya, he leaves home and smuggles himself into Vultaro within the Regalian Empire. Here, he enrolls within Nicolodi’s Dance Academy in order to form his grasp on the composition of formal stage performance. He's renowned for his excellent voice and unique appearance in the world of show business, but is known to be difficult to work with. The Maraya finds it challenging to shake off habits and thoughts of past. Naturally, Valleross is very good at masking his violent ambitions and feelings, yet lives an incredibly repressed life in this place; friendly sparring just wouldn't do and he often went too far. From here, the underbelly of the Empire proves to provide a respite in the tenants of the Cult of Evolution. Soothing the Beast | Cultists descend upon Valleross with their central beliefs which resonate with him and serve to give purpose in resolving something which even he could admit was becoming a problem. This way, he could learn to improve upon himself without abandoning everything he had been brought up on. He takes to Odella, The Mother, as his chosen patron. In doing this, he decides to extend his intelligence into a practical science instead of just art in the form of alchemy. He learns through becoming an assistant, but admittedly only sticks with it once he learns of its potentially harmful applications. Adulthood & Present Mentorship | Music and potion-making both drive his living, yet its Valleross' performance of the opera is what he is a minor celebrity for among the Dressolini and Azzizzari. Though not planning on slowing down anytime soon, he is encouraged to foster talent in others and becomes a mentor. His career sends him all over the Empire, as for now he rests within the Holy City.
