They grew up with their Slizzar identity kept secret from their family, enjoying a fairly normal childhood within the capital. ♦ Driven by dreams and visions, they eventually leave their family for Sassrakkand to immerse themselves fully in their Slizzar culture and learn of their way of life. They opted to travel the lands and learn of the different societies and lands. ♦ After staying in Ithania for some time, Sashwat decided to shoot their shot at the Great Game, working to establish themselves in the Regalian army as a renowned general. They entered into the Regalian Marshalry Academy under the guise of Lupin Lomstedt, an identity they had built with the help of a long-time friend and mentor. ♦ After graduating they were promptly deployed as a field commander to various conflicts such as the Second Songaskian War, which gradualy changed the Slizzar's outlook on their life, the Great Game, and their own beliefs. Looking for a solution to their nihilism, and following both their mentor and a certain other commander, they elected to return to their place of birth, the city of Regalia. During their time in Regalia, they became a knight of the Lothar Order. Spoiler: Long-form backstory [outdated] ♦ Sashwat was born in Sassrakkand, 262 AC. ♦ After a fairly standard childhood within the walls of the city, the Slizzar began to hone their ability to shapeshift, their days spent adopting personas and crafting elaborate backstories - following the footsteps of the Slizzar before him in the arts of espionage. ♦ On their 17th birthday, they set out to a new world in a new skin; masquerading as Felix Krämer to the city of Calemberg. Despite his practice in Sassrakkand, the traditions of the New Regalians were simply too foreign and too strange and he was caught almost immediately by a Calemberger named Lynmar Lomstedt. Well-aware with how the Regalians saw the Slizzar, Szaritas prepared for the worst. ♦ However, in an incredible stroke of luck, Lynmar revealed his own identity: Zyloslzvies. The two quickly became acquainted and Szaritas found a role-model in the older Slizzar. As he turned 18, Zyloslzvies adopted him as a mentor and Szaritas' final persona was chosen. A Waldmarker by the name of Lupin Lomstedt. ♦ As Lupin began to build connections and network, one particular colleague that stuck out was Erwin Braunschweiger, whom he had met when he enrolled in the local Tenpenny academy, but while the Braunschweiger saw recognition for resilience and dedication, Lupin only saw weakness. Upset that he had been outdone by such a mundane soldier, he forced his way to the Marshalry with an orchestra of string-pulling and Slizzarian abilities. ♦ Eventually, Lupin began to pursue his own path - furthering his way through any means necessarily. Within time, Lomstedt graduated as a field commander from Marshalry. Despite what he had been told, despite the wounded veterans he had met and despite the horrors he had heard of, nothing could truly prepare Lupin for what he saw in the trenches. His fear and despair was no longer that of a persona's, and the faith he had once held in the Sea Serpents were lost. ♦ Unable to cope with what was witnessed, Szaritas began to spiral. Vanishing into the personas of others to try and escape what he had wrought, the Slizzar left a storm of chaos in his wake to try and fathom what the world had come to. Desperate for any semblance of understanding, Lupin slowly realized that war had not changed the world, but only him. It had always been this way. ♦ Falling into nihilism, Szaritas set his goal to something far above petty spywork and sabotage. There was only one cure to meaninglessness. He was to transcend meaning itself. It didn't matter how. ♦ Eventually, upon hearing that both Lynmar and Erwin had moved to Regalia, he followed suit. The capital of the Empire and the Crown of the World. A wonderful place to start.
@Caelamus Some changes to proficiencies, I got rid of Husbandry since the Slizzar mount is not really usable without getting exposed as one, and it felt like a waste not using the prof. He also learned how to use Puretek ICly.
