Sophia isn't a huge suporter of faith, especially since several quarels she had with the church, however she follows the believes enough to stay out of trouble. For the first-time observer, Sophia may seem obviously stuck-up, arrogant and eccentric in her way of life. Though these are nothing more than what Ithanian culture left sticking to her. For a second look, the woman seems both a perfect definition of Ithanian haute couture and someone well-disciplined, someone kind to those with respect towards her and helpful to her kin. Protocol and manners therefor weigh heavy for the Ithanian, as she is so much devoted to them herself, she demands that others show the same respect and manners towards her. Behind the facade of discipline, Sophia is a woman torn by conflicts and opposites. She holds a fierce love towards her cultural background, though has to witness the ongoing assimilation. She remains non-confrontational and holds herself as an exemplary pacifist, though she witnessed the Anahera and Lo crises in Regalia and also saw the fall of the Hivre courts to the Daendroquean incursion and the bone horrors. Because of these, she perceives herself as someone cautious and experienced as well. Sophia refuses to abandon noble protocol even when discussing something with close friends or family. She maintains the attitude that even the walls could have eyes and ears to pass critique. Though she tends to be far more trusting and forgiving with friends and close associates than others. The most prominent difference is how Sophia acts close to children: her love of them enlightens her mood and brings out the best from her. The very opposite of what happens when she’s in the company of the more barbaric cultures. Sophia maintains a positive morality when she, in general, seeks to act to the benefit to the world around her. This does, however, dwarf next to her thrive for self-preservation and self-betterment. She has no firm stance for or against corruption, though tends to perceive those indulging in it as evil even when she does not directly act against them, mostly because of her studied in the field of diplomacy, she is well aware what power other could hold over her, if she were to act. Sophia and hengest don't have shared vieuws, if they do however, one of them will mostlikely change them to make sure they never agree on any subject. The two are like fire and ice, where Sophia is prim, prommer and behaves to the court standard, is Hengest brutish, rude and behaves like he wants. She is only enraged more by this because for her behaving like that has never been possible without being punished. However, how opinions can change. Since the appointment of her niece as Duchess, their houses have been in good contact to protect eachother from harm, which resulted in Sophia and Hengest taking a slight liking to eachother. He's married to an ithanian after all, so he cannot be that bad, can he? @Jonificus Life Story Sophia was born in 272AC, in Hivre Haute Puisse, in Lapalaise (the Ithanian capital). She is the eldest of three daughters, with a wealthy family background bordering nobility. She was raised to adore the finest zenith of Ithanian culture and developed an early affinity and love for her homeland. She learned to read and by the age of five and could maintain court etiquette to a presentable fashion as early as her ninth birthday. Throughout her upbringing, her family situation improved considerably with her uncle appointed to the Regalian Senate. Her family maintained a business of architecture, building and caring for the gold-plated monstrosities in Ithania. Along with her family’s investments, Sophia travelled from one freshly built palace to another. Her parents preferred their eldest daughter continuing their family business. As such, Sophia was sent in 285AC to study at the school of statesmanship in Ithania. While the Essa Empire bled out in the south, Sophia continued nonchalant studies in the Archipelago and graduated in 291AC with modest colours. She did not, however, remain satisfied with her place in the world and sought to enter the court proper. Later that year, she was offered apprenticeship as a diplomat and secretary to the Kingdom of Lusits. She remained in the Kingdom as an envoy until her eventual graduation and chartering as a diplomat in 295AC. Still in Lusits, she maintained her presence and took part in negotiations and imperial communication efforts during both the ranger crisis and the first elven war. She did, however, begin regularly visiting the Crown City. She made many acquaintances during her tenure in the city, though remained split between real estates commerce and her court duties. For a short while, she was made governess and machess of Brassigny, an island holding off the coast of the Archipelago. The holding was eventually stripped from her when she left Regalia for a considerable amount of time. She made her return-debut in Regalia before the Dragon Crisis, with the intentions of rising in the nobility and returning her name to the talk of the court once again. Sucessfully doing so with her niece, the two combined three ancient families into one, creating the once very powerfull de Letoirneau family, bringing it back to the stage. However, personal issues and heavy burdens on the family forced the family to leave the stage once more, as one of the more known faces in Regalia, Sophia didn't push her luck for a long duration and simply sat her time out in Vixhall, waiting for the right oppertunity. Returning at the Clicker Crisis isn't purely coïncidence. In times of chaos, there is often something to gain and that is why she is here, to re-establish herself as the embodiement of Ithanian power.
