Attila enjoys social merriment when in a good mood, and typically expressed his happiness or contentedness in very simple ways. When in a positive mood, he can typically be found singing, playing music, and drinking, all while wearing a face that beams of joy. How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? By responding with force. Attila faces his fears by attempting to become more powerful, and destroy them. Attila is vehemently against retreat except in extreme circumstances, and this shows when he faces fear. When confronted with fear, Attila responds with a charge against it. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? While not often stressed by life or combat, responsibilities can quickly grow too much for Attila. When stressed, it is not uncommon for him to grow angry. Typically, when he finds himself stressed, Attila will seek the relief of smoking or alcohol. How does your character view Law and Authorities? Attila respects groups of authority for the power they possess, but is critical of leaders that do not fight alongside their men, considering them cowardly or weak. He respects most laws for the power required to enforce them. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? He holds a great respect for Avanthar and Yanar, as well as a positive view of Cielothar. He despises Orcs, and is skeptical of Ailor and other highly civilized races. In general, he expresses his thoughts for other races in the same way he expresses any thoughts, with blunt humor. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? Attila is very passive regarding other religions, and will often hear about them with an open mind. However, he does not believe in any religions outside of Aspanjerism, looking down on other religions as silly. He views his native religion as more of a way of life than a form of worship, and follows it as such. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? He believes it is a perversion of wisdom in most cases, and should only be reserved for Shamans. He believes that use of magic in combat is cowardly, effeminate and dishonorable. How does your character feel towards their family? He does not hold any especially close bond with his blood family, but reveres his accomplished ancestors and ancestral clansmen. His strongest bond is often with the men he fights alongside, viewing them as close brothers. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? Physical prowess and success in battle. He is very proud of the physique he has cultivated, and his skill in unarmed combat. This is often expressed in the form of lighthearted bragging. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? A desire to conquer all obstacles, and to be the best in all that he does. Attila is a very competitive individual, and always wishes to outdo those around him. He feels unable to stop until he has no competition. What is your character's biggest insecurity? Not being strong enough to best another race that is naturally larger than his own. He considers his body to be one of the best achievable, and the thought of a race being born stronger without any work de-legitimizes the lifetime it took him to earn it. What is your character's biggest fear? Humiliation and shame as a result of a great defeat. Whether in combat or a ring match, Attila views defeat as humiliating. Attila fears a defeat so great that it would bring shame and humiliation to himself and all his ancestors. This is the primary reason he left Hȏrtutor, as he felt real combat was far too high stakes. Life Story Attila was born some time in the Autumn of 262 AC in the open fields of Hȏrtutor. As is custom in Qússrakón culture, his forename was taken from his Father, Khubilai, and his surname, Attila, was the name given to him. From an early age, Attila was raised to be very physical, as were all Qússrakón boys. Having begun his lifelong obsession with wrestling at only around 6 years old, Attila was immensely dedicated to being the best wrestler in not only his clan, but all those around. As he entered adolescence, Attila began horseback riding. Much like wrestling, Attila was highly competitive in horseback riding. Attila formed a very close bond with each horse he rode, often times foregoing sleeping in a Yurt to remain closer to his steed. To most, Attila's relation to his mount was seen as more intimate than it should be, sometimes being referred to as "Horse-lover," among other terms. When not caring for his horse, Attila would often spend the nights drinking, singing, and playing the Morin khuur, a traditional Qússrakón instrument. While archery is typically a favored form of weaponry among Qússrakón warriors, Attila found more enjoyment in using blunt weapons. Throughout young adulthood, Attila and the men of Hȏrtutor would frequently practice raiding against outsiders. Fighting as members of the Wild Union, Attila saw combat on multiple occasions. During the Avanthar Civil War, Attila rode against many Avanthar horsemen in defense of his homeland and people. Losing many brothers and clan members in the war, Attila came out battle hardened, but humbled. He found true battle to be a woeful experience. After this, he turned from the life of a warrior to that of a sportsman primarily. He devoted his time to building muscle mass in order to be a menacing wrestler and unarmed fighter. For fear of being labeled a coward for not going to war again, and due to a curiosity of the rest of the world, Attila left Hȏrtutor to explore. First moving through Daen society as a drifting pit fighter and wrestler, Attila found opportunity in being invited to the Regalian Crown Isle to fight. Accepting the offer, Attila took a ship to the City of Regalia where he won the competition he was invited to perform in. After this, he drifted around the city, taking in the height of Ailor society and fighting in whatever competitive matches he could find.
