His family was famous in the region for being old-money. They were pelt traders, up until the family hunted the beasts in the region out of existence, forcing them out of business. Just a few years after he was born, his family ventured into the coal extraction business. An industrial outpost was built, attracting many merchants and workers into the area. Maksim was always a quiet child, rarely crying or making a hissy-fit. He was given the bare-minimum of schooling, though was tutored heavily in the art of business by his strict father and businessman, Krussan Kuritnid. Teendom His extended family all lived with each other in a large house overlooking the outpost, now being a thriving economic town called Kuritnidgrad. His cousins, basically brothers and sisters, would all play and communicate with each other almost every day. When Maksim was about 10 years young, the family ventured into the logging business, making a killing in that industry too. He was no stranger to physical fights, as that’s the way his father resolved conflicts with the three brothers. If one of them had beef with another, they would fight, his father overlooking it. If one of them lost, they would be belted for losing, and told not to lose next time. At the time it didn’t make any sense, and could seem cruel, though it actually toughened the young children up, and taught them important lessons. With the economic boom of Kuritnidgrad, visitors from the South arrived. With them they brought tabacca, which became a hit among the local populace. However, with this, came competition. Not only had the family been outmatched by some Southerner traders, but their population was now addicted to the whims of an outside source. Unable to comprehend this, the family did what they knew best. The trading company was razed, its leaders killed, stock pillaged. The Kuritnids moved to expand their expertise beyond coal mining and logging at that, founding Kuritnid Cigarettes off the back of the destroyed tabacca company. His father wanted Maksim to be the future owner of this new addition to the family industry, and Maksim had no objections, he was even thrilled to have this future. Adulthood Maksim at the age of 25 controlled Kuritnid Cigarettes, where his two brothers controlled the coal extraction and logging industry. His brand of cigarettes were sold in many different places across the archipelago, being a hit in some places, and others not so much. Though the goal of the family was to create a strong family presence in the Crown Isle of Regalia. In doing this, they could spread their influence across the whole archipelago with their industrial monopoly. Some of them would leave their luxurious house, moving to the Isle of Lights in order to fulfill this goal. A new chapter begins for Maksim.
