Several years ago when I was rather young, I went to summer camp with a large book of King Arthur stories. At the time, I was also very infatuated with the water and the video game "Sonic and the Dark Knight". In was in these five days at camp that I remember I drew several images. Some alien fish, some aquatic fairy people I blended together from the King Arthur tales and that Sonic game, and finally several boats. Then, I lost the paper and my mind went away from what I created.
Later, when I was in Grade 7, I was a math wiz. I had started going to Kumon, a math tutoring service, two years prior and then was at a level of mathematical understanding close to early Grade 9. Thus, I powered through my math and had a lot of free time on my hands. It came one day that my teacher gave out grid paper for that day's homework (that I finished without using the paper). So I decided just to randomly doodle on the spare paper and drew a line. And then another line. Over the next three days in Math Class, after my homework was done, I continued to draw. And so was born my videogame idea. At the time I didn't know it. All I had was the top-down view of a castle wall, some fields and apart of the city's interior.
So then I grabbed a page of plain paper of the same size, placed in next the first one and continued the drawing. It was then that I utilized what I remembered of my old drawing made during those days of summer camp also. Yet, while I searched for it desperately, I couldn't find it and had to go on memory alone. I continued creating my world and idea throughout Grade 7 and 8, asking a few classroom acquaintances for opinions on the game and for drawing of some of my ideas from talented others. (If I can, I'll try to get some of their work up on here so it can be forever immortalized on the internet.) Yet as I entered Grade 9, I stopped. It was high school, where you needed to focus on school or fail terribly on the dreaded Exams. It was at that time that I turned to the Massivecraft Forums and gave a request out to those who were willing to. To draw some of my ideas or use my world or their own minds to inspire themselves to draw something and then allow me to use it.
Now, I am reviving that project. There are so many new and amazing artists that exist on this server and I would like to ask, if you would like to, is to help me in my life goal. Help me to create my dream videogame. Below I shall soon post the game's story, it's general blend of themes and what kind's of things I'm looking for. I shall also keep a log of all art given to me by my old classmates, and those who so wonderfully contributed to my first request for art, the last contribution being two months ago.
All artists shall be acknowledged and thanked when the game comes out (whenever it does). The art can be as rough as possible, I only wish for people to do what they feel comfortable with. I swear I shall do that and I hope that you will assist me in creating the world I have imagined about for over three years.
