Why are there so many people online? New world coming out? Sudden advertizing spree by staff? Sudden crash of all the other servers in the world?

I have found out that when you log out of the server, you stay online. I tested this with wannag and asked him to do /seen to me when I log out. He said I still am online despite me not even in the server.
The 100 people factionelss people online, are those who join, instantly log out but they still remain online or those without a faction.

This sounds like a fairly serious bug...

Note to anyone logging out. Make sure you do so in a safe location.
I've noticed that you still stay in the same position when you log out and there is potential for a mob or person to kill you.

As X0N said, the player count is bugged. There are many players seen as 'online' when they aren't actually online. They can't be interacted with, seen, moved, etc. They are technically not there, while at the same time they are.
We are aware of the issue and hope to resolve it soon.

Well Massivecraft is on every drug that roger is on American dad

They have come! Beaver is trapping our souls! Flee! Flee from Regalia!

Dont Save the Pileran's!

GHOSTS

WE'VE GOT MASSIVECRAFT GHOSTS

everyone paniiic!

It's a bug, the server doesn't recognize players that logged off and counts them as if they are still online.

This might explain some of the connection problems I've been having that keep getting me kicked off for no reason.
EDIT: And now I can't connect at all, getting a "ReadTimeoutException: Null" error. I'm guessing this is because [drama] THE SERVER THINKS I'M ALREADY ONLINE! [/drama]

I was curious of why the number kept rising and rising when I tried to do such log on. As well as it showed a friend of mine on even though they were off.

If the server thinks you're still online.. Couldn't you still kick them off? Or possibly force a restart to get everything back in order?

Hey Im in that picture :P though I was online and may I say 800+ players is a lot of lag.

I counted three nagas. WE ARE GROWING STRONGER!!! ...I mean whatt????

The server restart may or may not fix the bug.. If it does HOORAY!!! If it doesn't; well it gives the admins, and such time to find the problem and fix it... If they were to restart it that is.

Is it sad I looked over the original picture for about 10 minutes to find myself? (Which I did...)

Yeah, but it gives the staff more time to fix it.
@deadfoe51
Yes.. It does.. As I stated above... Letting people on right away; isn't a good idea.. They restart it, and then try to fix the problem.. This is assuming they can restart it, and they can fix the problem.. They're the admins and moderators; they may have already thought of this.
