A few ideas I had (Some ideas are taken from other servers actually, but I think they would be a lot of fun in MassiveCraft)

1. King of the Hill events, held on weekends or monthly, where there is a special warzone area with, a central capture zone with surrounding warzone claims. Faction members cannot hurt each other, but allies CAN. Stand in the capture zone (1 chunk area) for 15 minutes uninterrupted and get rewards like regals, rare items, and event specific items, plus the loot from the other faction's PvPers you presumably killed to win.

2. PvP Tournaments. The last tournament @Imboring56 hosted was very fun, but if the staff helped to make it more structured it would reduce cheaters and improve overall quality.

3. A spot where factions continuously fight over, like a ruined city (similar to Osgiliath):P. Factions can claim land of the other factions here based on power, and the more chunks you control the better rewards you get over time.

Please, feel free to let me know what you think and WHY (constructive) you think it below.

actually not a bad idea. I've been getting more into PVP lately so this could be fun if structured well

I love the idea of the ruined city battleground.

Making those people quiet and happy is good, I support this.

Scheduled events with the existing mini games would be enough for me.

But really, I think the only pvp that matters to me is the kind where one feels there's something at stake, the sort you train, fortify, and gear up for. In other words, it's only exciting, for me, when part of the medieval game. (Although I do enjoy badlion kit combat, but that's only because it's how I practice for massive.)

I would edit the naughty African big cat part out.
I agree though, high stakes is when it's more exciting, and my ideas could provide more of those times.

Like @levers stated, PvP isn't much fun when it is so planned out. It's not even remotely personal, and you basically have nothing to lose.

Hmmm... Docktown could be made into the 'ruined city' that two sides fight over. Being in New Ceardia, it could be battles (in roleplay) between the Regalian Empire and the Qadir Sultanate... with whoever feels like pvping joining in favor of one side or another.

Thinking like this, there could be battles in or at least near the regalian archipelago as well.

I agree with what @BenAlex144 said at the same time a battle ground for control of a checkpoint with INGAME rewards such as weapons money and treasure would be most entertaining so long as it is not a mini game. Perhaps something like I dunno a pay to enter world for that.

The only one that would be similar to a minigame is the PvP tournaments, the rest would be in a world in an area not near factions in any of the worlds.

I'm not one for PvP (in fact, I personally hate Minecraft PvP in most situations), but I absolutely adore these ideas. They make me actually want to fight in Massivecraft for once, and that alone testifies to how great this would be.

Lukkerdam was a fine example, a ruined city claimed by warzone.
It would originally be warzone until factions started claiming over the warzone. This seems like it would need a special plugin. The KOTH idea is much easier to implement though, I think... though it might need a special plugin too, I don't know.

You can't claim over war zones. Around them, maybe, but that could be easily handled.

What would be the point of claiming land then? Pre made bases with chests and stuff like anvils and brewing stands?
I think that maybe there could be random beds in houses, and a house in each chunk? Then the faction members can open and close the door, but others can't depending on their faction perms. I don't know really though, this idea (#3) was not very well thought it out because it requires the most work by staff I think.

I really think you should stop generalizing a giant group of people by the actions of a few flaming and annoying PvPers...
What do my motives matter, I support the enterprise you have thought of. Isn't that enough?

I thank you for your support but when you insult a fairly large portion of the player base then I get mad. You just blamed the actions of a few annoying people on an entire group of people.

That's like if roleplayers got mad at the entire RP community because of the few noob vampires that run around the tavern and screech.
